Amazing! The area is lovely and picture perfect. This tour allowed us to see parts of the Cotswolds that we would not have seen. Richard was amazing at storytelling and giving us pointers on things to check out and notice. He recommended good photo ops and even snapped photos of us. The vehicle was spacious, comfortable, and high which allowed for good touring views. It really feels like you are being shown around by a friend. Communication with Lucy and Richard was excellent. Planning a vacation from a different country can be challenging but they were wonderful in helping us when asked for recommendations and alerting us to changes in train availability. Highly recommend this tour and company!

Our Bespoke Cotswolds Tour was like a fairytale! Richard took us to the beautiful, picturesque villages we had chosen for our tour, and it was wonderful from beginning to end! He would tell us interesting and fun facts about the Cotswolds during our journey to each village, and then when we arrived at each village, we had time to stroll around and explore on our own, take photos, and do some shopping in the bigger villages. It was all perfect! Lucy was great with communications. She kept us informed from the time we made our reservation, up until our scheduled tour date, and I always received a quick response to my questions. We were very pleased with everything and we loved our special gifts at the end :-) Our stay in the Cotswolds and our tour with Richard was the highlight of our vacation. We can’t wait to come back and do another tour to some of the other villages.

Lucy and Richard did an amazing job of creating an unbelievable experience for us, on our trip to the Cotswolds. Lucy did an outstanding job of answering our initial questions, and helping us with the reservation and (very importantly) with directions from London. Richard was an excellent tour guide, and provided us with a wealth of information about the history, culture, and customs of the places we visited. We couldn't thank them more for a unbelievable experience, and highly recommend their company!

We had a lovely half day tour of the Cotswolds with Richard. I told Lucy beforehand that I was a big fan of Tolkien, and they made sure to bring us to Stow-on-the-Wold to see the famous door that is believed to have inspired him. The half day was the right balance of guided tour and independent exploration. Definitely worth booking a private tour with Lucy and Richard!

We booked the two day tour with COTSWOLDS GUIDED TOURS and the quality of the tour exceeded our expectations. Richard, our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Lucy did an amazing job organising our tour and even helped advise on travel arrangements to the Cotwolds. She was polite and worked hard to go the extra mile. Richard gave a great tour on the day, he was punctual, friendly and told some great stories, especially the most memerable one about sheepdogs going to church. He also took some good photos and gave us some very lovely souveniers to help us remember our trip. Room for improvement: at most stops, we were given a map and some time to enjoy each area. This might appeal to some (more introverted) tourists, but for us, we really would have appreciated a walking tour at as many stops as possible. I'd say the tour was 80% narrated taxi service and only 20% guided tour. We payed £375 for a 6 hour tour but only spent about 3 hours with our guide. I feel a bit guilty being so brutally honest and giving only 4 stars, as both Lucy and Richard worked really hard and delivered a good day out. Overall: a great tour by great people for those who want lots of time to explore on their own.

What a day! Thank you Richard for an elevated experience touring the Cotswolds. The villages were all lovely and unique in their own right and your interesting anecdotes along the way made for an enjoyable day. inspiring to see that such beautiful quaintness exists and is so respected and shared by such accessible and informative guides. Easy day trip from London/Paddington via rail and tour guides are extremely mindful of schedule and accommodating.

My family had a wonderful day in the Cotswolds in late November 2022 with Cotswolds Guided Tours. We had a tight schedule and wanted to cover as much ground as possible in a day. After impeccable communications from Lucy L., we arrived exactly on time at the train station from London to have a perfect bespoke tour of the region - only issue I had was we should have booked another day as there is so much to see! Richard L. made possible for us to cover some excellent highlights of the region - e.g. Stow on the Wold, a cute market town, Bourton on the Water, Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter and then onto the remote hillside village of Snowshill, to watch the sunset. Importantly, Richard knows the backroads of the area very well so can navigate around potential areas of traffic – this is real insider knowledge. Can’t recommend enough Cotswolds Guided Tours for smaller groups or families. We look forward to coming back soon.
