FAQ

What is the adoption process for animals at your shelter?

At Dogs Trust Bridgend, we require potential adopters to fill out an application and participate in a screening process. This includes a home visit to ensure the environment is suitable for the specific animal. Once approved, the adopter can meet and spend time with the animal before making a final decision.

Are there any adoption fees, and if so, what do they include?

Yes, we do have adoption fees which vary depending on the animal and their needs. The fees include vaccinations, microchipping, neutering/spaying, and any necessary medical treatment.

How do you ensure the health and well-being of animals in your care?

We have a team of trained professionals who provide daily care and medical attention to our animals. We also have a strict protocol for hygiene and sanitation to prevent the spread of diseases.

Do you provide any training or support for new pet owners?

Yes, we offer support and advice to new pet owners. This includes training classes, behavior consultations, and resources for basic care. We want to ensure the animals are adjusting well to their new homes and that the owners have the necessary knowledge and skills to care for them properly.

How can I support your shelter through donations or volunteering?

There are several ways to support Dogs Trust Bridgend. You can make a donation online or in person, become a regular supporter through our Sponsor a Dog program, or volunteer your time at the shelter. We also appreciate donations of food, toys, and other supplies for our animals.

Situated in a very rural location on the outskirts of Bridgend, the buildings look like a former farm complex. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the reception was clean and airy. Buildings look very well maintained and there is lots of outside space. Not far from the A48 trunk road.
