I’ve recently completed the beginner, intermediate and advanced DJ courses at DJ Gym Birmingham with Mark Spence. It’s been a thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable experience and I have to say that Mark has been amazingly supportive, knowledgeable, patient in taking me from a complete beginner working on a DDJ-200 and streaming music right through to building advance sets using the new CDJ-3000 equipment. As usual, DJ Spence was in top form. He helped me get to grips with phrasing and special effects. Also, I feel more confident with mixing and can now hear the difference between a good and poor mix myself. When things don't sound so good I know what to do to get it to sound better. I'll be getting my own controller in the next two weeks so will be able to practice more. I've signed up for the Intermediate course as well.

I started my journey with DJ Gym, in 2019. Having played for nearly 15 years I had been a competent DJ but wanted to improve. It wasn't till I took my intermediate and advanced courses with Marc that I knew just how much I could improve. These courses are designed to teach you in a step by step way to not only understand all of the latest equipment available to you as a DJ but also utilise them, not as live mixing equipment but as a musical instrument enabling you to manipulate tracks and mix in a way that you thought you only could ever see on an Instagram reel from a world renowned DJ. As a teacher Marc is second to none. Patient, knowledgable and enthusiastic. I cannot recommend him enough. On completion of your courses you will be put into an LSA alumni group. Which is where the real fun begins! Supported by the London Sound Academy team I have played at Ministry Of Sound, Egg London, Horse & Groom and of course took part in the Ibiza 2023 tour. Completing that tour supporting Chase & Status. None of this is possible without the hard work of Buster and his LSA team that strive to give you the very best experience and set you on the path of becoming what you could only dream of being before you stepped into the DJ Gym Studio. There will be no measure for the confidence you will feel in your self after doing this I promise you. You will meet some incredible people and you will be able to play your music in a way you would not believe you could. The team really do make the difference. There is no comparison. I have been learning to DJ here for just over two years. The teaching is excellent and I have progressed from a complete beginner to intermediate. I have played a few times at a bar. Marc is a very helpful and understanding tutor. We have covered lots of things including how to set up the equipment, filters and effects and mixing in key. Lessons are very enjoyable.

I initially booked the course as I've been in the game for over 20 years and wanted to become more familiar with new technology and advances in equipment and digital djing. Ben, I have to say, has been a true inspiration! He was very good at listening to me and assessing my needs and meeting them with abundance! I could not have asked for a better tutor! Ben is extremely talented and an outstanding teacher. He knew exactly how to get the best out of me and I always came away from lessons buzzing and feeling like I had achieved and progressed! I recently completed a beginners course with Neville after purchasing some decks. I had 4 x 2 hr lessons with him where he showed me to beat match, use phrases, different techniques to mix and blend tunes together, how to download tracks and use rekordbox. By the end of the 4 lessons I had my own 8 track mix with the songs I like. Can’t thank Neville and Dj gym enough. Looking forward to my intermediate course.
