Having looked around at other online suppliers and folk like Howden (silly money) we decided on a shaker kitchen from DIY Kitchens, also having been recommended by our kitchen fitter. They were extremely helpful during my design stage answering silly questions patiently, and checking the fit of units in the very defined space we were working with. I also found the 3d design software to be really well thought out, and it added in plinths, cornices and end panels automatically - brilliant. We had sample doors, which decided the final colour - Alabaster. We bought the worktop & sink elsewhere, simply because we wanted colours and finishes that DIY Kitchens didn't offer; oven & hob from IKEA, extractor from Elica. . Delivered in four weeks, to our fitters premises, as our little cottage has no spare space for the delivery. The units were very well packed, and there was no damage. The fitters appreciated the box of flapjacks that arrived in the delivery, we kept the Yorkshire teabags... Impressed with the final quality of the units - the corner unit is terrific and pullout basket units are really good quality. We also had a deep drawer unit which is a revelation to use for pans and crockery. The customer service and response to any queries was excellent - after placing our order, I had to alter it urgently, as we realised that we couldn't fit a freestanding cooker, so managed to sort the unit changes within the 48 hour window - what a great idea, and no hassle. Recommended.

Very pleased with my DIY kitchen and the colour match. It looks exactly like f&b. The quality is very good. A solid wood kitchen for half the price Wren quoted and they don't do any solid wood kitchens anymore. Amazing! We also used them to create a small cloakroom area. I've had to touch up the paint a couple of time else I would have given 5 stars.

Third set of doors and they are still damaged!!!! Our experience with DIY kitchens started off excellent. We loved the online design platform, customer service, quality of the cabinets and the reasonable delivery time frame of the kitchen. However, we are now on our third set of cabinet doors as they keep arriving damaged with scratches and dents all over them making them unusable. Each time we have been assured they will take extra care with the doors upon packaging and delivery (even though this should be as standard) but this has not been the case. We witnessed a delivery driver actually standing on items in the truck as well as poor packaging of doors with minimal protection around them, some even had two doors packaged together with no protection between them. No wonder they arrived damaged!!! We have now been upgraded (again) for a higher spec less likely to be scratched. Over 2 months after the delivery of our kitchen we hope to have undamaged doors delivered soon. No compensation for the inconvenience and frustration we have experienced.
