The White Hart is a friendly and cosy pub with welcoming open fires. The roast beef was deliciously pink and tender and my daughter loved the accompanying cauliflower cheese. Our meals were served extraordinarily quickly, so much so it was almost as if they were plated before we ordered. We had high expectations, having married there many years ago, and while there was nothing particularly wrong with the meal, it did not excel to justify the £40 per head cost, all in, and we left feeling disappointed. It's a decent pub restaurant but it's not fine dining and we have had much better meals for similar or less cost.

Delicious meal (and catering for me, super fussy vegan, was no problem at all), excellent service and a really well organised dining area with tables spaced out without losing the lovely atmosphere.

We had a fantastic evening, it was wonderful to see two of out son's and their wives We arrived 10 mins late I asked the receptionist lf the rest of our party ( after she finished what she was doing) had arrived She said they were in the bar and to get to the oak room we would have to go outside the building and reenter further up, I pointed out that we were displaying disability a badge ( my wife was on crutches) . No! she was insitent we would have to go outside the building . We went to the bar. No sooner had we asked to order than a very polite young chap asked us if we would mind going to the Oak room as they were very busy. We readily agreed. He took us to the Oak room without going outside Ten minutes or so later after asking a passing waiter did we manage to order a drink. The manager came over to take our order after he told us that a number of items were no longer available. Eventually our first course arrived which my case was a cold 'hot' starter seved by a very friendly young man who called me 'Buddy' i wondered if this was the way it was now going to be Post Brexit ? We continued to have a really great time. I doubt that bolt cutters could have cut through the base of my pezza i was forced to ask for a streak knife even with that i gave up half way through We were presented with the Bill before the sweet which we had previously ordered arrived I noted with a smile that the one thing done professionaly was the Bill To sum up, in fairness they had just reopend and it did seem that the young staff were very inexperienced and it was going to be an evening that Nothing was going to spoil
