We haven't even got our sofa and yet we have decided we will never buy another sofa from DFS. We did our homework online and went into the Maidstone branch to test what we'd decided on. It was an easy sale for the salesman (David). The only thing we needed after signing and paying a £500 deposit, was a sample of the fabric (which we required to match paint samples). He couldn't give us one at the time for some reason (he was very vague) but said we should call into the DFS helpline and we'd get one in 10 days. We duly did this, however when the sample hadn't arrived after 2 weeks, we called the helpline again only to be told it would take 4-6 weeks. This was obviously very irritating as we'd been misinformed at shop level. We need to get the room painted in anticipation of the sofa's arrival, but cannot do this as we cannot choose paints without a sample colour of the sofa. This week will be almost 9 WEEKS since we ordered the couch (and called for a sample) but still no sample. We accepted that it would take 13 weeks for the sofa to be delivered, no doubt because its being made in China or the like (I sincerely hope that they keep to their word on this!) It has been a very poor experience and I can see now why they send you a barage of review requests straight after you've placed the order and paid your deposit (when you actually haven't had any service from them and all they've done is take your money).
