Fab little general store also serving hot drinks, pastries and light lunch food. Stopped for a coffee and a cheese toastie whilst walking a section of the NDW. So great to have an alternative to a pub so close to the route.

Second time visiting the community store to use the post office. The first time I was served by a fantastic young woman with dark hair. Due to such service I returned today to post 6 more parcels. The chap, Glen , who was running the post office weighed one of my 6 parcels, and dictated the size of them all off of this first parcel. When calling up to query this I was told by him that he could see by eyesight that none of the parcels would have gone for anything different. This could be correct , however , each parcel should have been individually weighed. I was also told to stick 5 of the 6 ‘signed for ‘ labels onto the parcels, which although an easy job, surely not mine when I’m using the services of a post office ? Pretty unprofessional service. Also, the 30m eco friendly Kraft tape you are selling for £2.99 is appalling. I purchased this as well, have taken the rest of my parcels to Milton post office this afternoon to be posted and have had to purchase more parcel tape due to no labels sticking to this useless stuff .

This place is like a mini oasis. Stumbled across the store when running low on water bikepacking the North Downs Way. Well stocked, friendly staff, brilliant.

Great local store serving the local community and those visiting from further afield. Great for walkers and cyclists if your passing by folks and need to refuel. Legendary sausage rolls.

Stopped in for coffee and cake after a run along the Pilgrims Way with friends. Very tasty (I can recommend the gingerbread cake). Also bought a newspaper and a delicious loaf of bread on impulse. A really useful little shop. If I lived in Detling I would be a frequent visitor.
