I've been with them for almost 10 years and unfortunately it is very poorly managed place. They never opened throughout the pandemic, even NHS said they must to. Appointments are a nightmare. Doctors are pleasant but often one will tell you one thing, and two weeks later another will tell you something completely different.

My wife is upset. She has been a patient here since 1973 - fifty years. The service used to be exemplary but recently trying to get simple treatments has been an ordeal. They now appear to have lost her blood test results done at the surgery ten days ago. Today she asked for an appointment with a doctor, and she was told the next available appointment was in four weeks' time! Is this what we paid a lifetime's National Insurance contributions for? When you call, you spend several minutes having to listen to a recorded message about Covid vaccinations, which is at least 18 months out of date. Nobody there seems to care.

GP serve small community I am rather surprised and disappointed that there is a long pattern of feedback from various patients about rude and unhelpful receptionist!!! I repeat again : Rude Unhelpful and Arrogant!!!! Especially 1 that I personally encountered about 3 times and she is bringing the bad reputation to the surgery Shame on the Doctor's who does not recognise that poor quality and what does it mean to the whole picture of GP and NHS

This practise is soooo bad!!!!!!!! From the doctors to the receptionists. They are rude and unhelpful and when challenged walk away or tell you to ‘go private’ Or blame ‘too many people in this country’ what kind of attitude for a receptionist is that!! I really would NOT recommend. You can’t get an appointment, they don’t answer their phones (just been holding in queue at place no.1 for 39 mins before I rang off for my own mental health!!) Been waiting 4 mths and still not been able to book a smear test as theres never an appointment for the nurse. My husband had to go for 2 blood tests because they forgot to order the right ones. Bad, really, really disappointingly bad!!!!

Unfortunately, they do not have a capability to provide with the good service. Perhaps doctors are nice there, but I never got a chance to find out - appointments hardly available when you need it, you can call after lunch time to try to book in on the day (if they have availability spot) but good luck with getting through the phone. If it's an emergency I advise not to waste time on calling.

I've been registered at this surgery for almost a year. The doctors I interacted with have always been courteous, caring and empathetic, which is great. However there have been a couple of instances where I was told by reception staff to expect a call in the morning (which I rearranged work shifts around) only to be called late afternoon just as I was leaving for work with no explanation. Also today I had a disappointing encounter with one of the receptionists. Last week, I was told by one of the doctors to come into the centre to "fill out a form" regarding a blood test - the words the doctor used over the phone. The doctor had not given their name, but was very polite. Up until a few weeks ago, I had never had a blood test before; certainly had no idea what the protocol was for getting one. I came in, a receptionist came forward and saw me waiting but turned around and continued her conversation with another member of staff before coming up to the desk. I explained why I was there, to which she responded very bluntly "No, you won't have been told to fill out a form. Collect it, perhaps." I said that that was what I was told over the phone. She then said "No, you won't have. Do you have an appointment?" I said no, but I had been told by a doctor to come in to fill out a form. She then became more irritable and said "Which doctor? From here? From Derwent?" I said yes. Only then did she ask for my details, which should have been done to begin with to eliminate any confusion from the get-go. The doctor may have simply misspoke on the phone and meant collect the form. The receptionist then gave me the forms with a dismissive "Here you are" and no explanation of what to do next. But after all that, I didn't particularly want to ask anything else. I wasn't rude or trying to be awkward in any way - I simply relayed what I had been told and frankly was spoken to like dirt. Working in entertainment/customer service, if I had spoken to a customer the way the receptionist spoke to me, I would have been reprimanded by my manager. A little understanding and compassion goes a long way.

Very happy with this surgery. They are responsive, the doctors are caring. The only thing that can be improved is the receptionists attitude. They are not helpful sometimes.
