FAQ

What safety measures and equipment do you provide for climbers?

We provide safety equipment such as harnesses, ropes, and helmets for all climbers. Our staff also regularly inspects the equipment to ensure that it is in good condition and safe to use. In addition, we have safety guidelines and rules in place to ensure that all climbers are following proper safety procedures.

Are there any age or experience restrictions for using your rock climbing areas?

We welcome climbers of all ages and experience levels at our rock climbing areas. However, children under the age of 18 need to have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver before climbing. For beginners, we recommend starting with our introductory courses or taking a lesson with one of our experienced instructors.

Do you offer any training programs or classes for beginners?

Yes, we offer training programs and classes for beginners. Our introductory courses cover the basics of rock climbing, including safety procedures, equipment use, and climbing techniques. We also offer private lessons with our experienced instructors for a more personalized learning experience.

How often are the climbing routes and equipment checked and maintained?

Our climbing routes and equipment are checked and maintained on a regular basis. Our staff inspects the equipment before and after each use, and we have a maintenance schedule in place to ensure that everything is in good condition. We also regularly update our climbing routes to keep them fresh and challenging for our climbers.

What is the instructor-to-student ratio during a typical course or session?

We maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio to ensure that each climber receives personalized attention and instruction. Our ratio varies depending on the course or session, but we typically have one instructor for every four to six climbers. This allows us to provide individual feedback and support to each participant.

What a great bouldering place. Some very interesting boulder problems and routes. Very friendly, helpful staff. Love the fact that they have still kept some of the original features from when it was originally a tram depot with a larger crane still in its rail from the ceiling. Would highly recommend visiting.

Often too busy with a queue to get in. Entry cost the same as the other Depots but facilities not as good and no free parking. I tend to travel further afield now as a result which is a shame as the problem setting usually very good. Opportunity to find a new location and create Depot Nottingham 2.0 maybe?
