I was very pleased with the Lindberg Spirit glasses I bought, and they fit nicely. I wasn't very impressed with the knowledge of the women who served me. I first rang to ask about opening hours over the Christmas and New Year period, and was told I could view Lindberg frames at the Alton branch. I drove over to find they had none. One journey wasted. A week later I drove to the Denmead branch to view frames. The assistant said she could get my eyes tested the same day at Liphook and choose frames there. Great. So I popped over to the ice rink then drove up to Liphook an hour before the eye test. I found they had no Lindberg frames. So I waited an hour, then had the eye test. The optometrist was very polite and professional and did a good job. Other staff members were polite and helpful. However I was not given the prescription, which is a legal requirement. I could not visit in the week due to work, so a week later I drove back to Denmead to choose a frame. The assistant knew little about Lindberg, and nothing about the lens options, saying I could have budget or premium. I later found out that the premium, known as Zeiss Lotutec, is a coating technology and not a lens. Incidentally my Zeiss binoculars have Lotutec coatings. I chose polycarbonate lenses. I discovered later that Trivex is more suitable for drill mount frames as polycarbonate can suffer stress fractures at drill holes. My previous glasses had poly lenses, and the edge fractured at a drill hole which was the reason for buying new glasses. However, two years later when having my eyes tested elsewhere, I saw the prescription, and they had fitted 1.6 lenses, not polycarbonate. So I was misinformed. So, five stars for the glasses, the price and the fitting, but one star for the knowledge of the product and the other branches in the chain.
