Denmark Road used to be a well-run residence, prioritising the needs of students until very recently. It is currently managed by individuals who will do anything they can to avoid resolving students' problems. For the hefty price of around £160 a week, you really do not get much for your money. In the first semester alone, the lift was out of service for a considerable amount of time, my flat went without hot water for over two weeks, and even after multiple occasions of complaints and reports, the office claimed to be unaware of the issue. The issue was 'resolved' through a measly 'reimbursement payment' which did not even equate to a week's worth of rent. To add, following a leak from the flat above, our kitchen has an ongoing mould and damp issue on the ceiling and two walls which the team has decided to ignore. Many other flats are experiencing the same issues and more, however not much is being done to combat it. Multiple petitions have been signed by residents but ignored by management. Please do not fall for the accommodation shown in the photos, Denmark road is no longer what it used to be. In saying this, the maintenance guys are great, and try to help students on their own accord despite clearly being advised against it by the main team who try to avoid communicating with residents at all costs.

Stayed here for 2021/2022 academic year, at an ensuite room for £159 per week. At that rate, I was very happy with the room provided. There were a few downsides I had, but overall, nothing much to really complain about. Plus, living with lads I knew for a long time made most of the negatives funny anyways. Bottom line: your flatmates will probably make or break your experience, so flat with people who you like. If you don’t like anybody, book all the possible rooms in the flat and pretend you own a house. The walls are paper thin. I can hear my flatmate raging when playing League(he has issues). Tons of desk & storage space which is great. The wifi speeds allow to me uninstall all my games under the guise of “I need to revise for exams”, only for me to re-install them again 30 minutes later at blazing speeds. The mattress is absolute dogwater though, and the sink in my bathroom is one of those primary school ones where they automatically turn off after you press them, as if you are a child. Even worse, they’re separated, so one is freezing, and the other gives you 2nd degree burns. They give out free stuff in the reception from time to time which is lovely; the constant supply of Rubicon helped me develop a caffeine addiction.
