I have been working with Ashley Patience over the last 6-9 months regarding a scaffolding license against a very large developer and local authority and I have to say he is the most competent and professional Surveyor I have ever worked with. Prior to starting with Ashley I had previously appointed a different surveyor from a different firm but I had to ask him to stand down and then luckily Delva Patman Redler LLP were recommended and I am so glad I contacted them and got to work with Ashley. We have now come to a successful conclusion and that would not have been possible without the help and guidance that Ashley offered throughout the process. I would thoroughly recommend that you work with Ashley for any Party Wall or Scaffolding license issues or indeed any work that requires a Chartered Surveyor. He is a real professional. This firm was appointed by the Freehold to oversee the refurbishment works to my flat (which did not have any structural changes). I did not have a choice in the matter. I was quoted costs with the maximum of around £6,000+VAT. For the duration of the works their involvement was patchy due to near constant annual leave which led to significant delays and increasing costs to me for the works. The approach when they were onsite was somewhat casual, often spending time with other tenants in the building, making it very difficult to keep track of which costs belonged to my works, and which belonged to the building as a whole. In the end their final bill was nearly £17,000 in additional fees. It has been very difficult to understand how this is possible for a project which was relatively simple. Requests for further clarity into these additional costs have been met with threats of incurring even more fees, making it impossible to get any transparency. Avoid at all possible.

Beyond disappointing. It is standard procedure that upon becoming aware of a potential conflict of interest (this goes to you Ms Shirley Waldron), you would notify the client in order to agree on an appropriate course of action. The fact that there was no notification of this conflict of interest -which would immediately preclude you from acting on the clients behalf- yet you kept sending invoices and demanding they be paid makes you and the firm not only highly unprofessional but criminal.
