I am not sure where to begin, other than if minus stars could have been awarded the -5 would have been too generous. In January 2020, we purchased a 'Brand new boat' from Mr Ward. On the face of it it was and still is a very nice vessel. However, three days into our journey, moving it from Stratford to our Marina, it became very apparent that the 'brand new' oven fitted did not work. The grill was fine but the oven refused to light , even following the manufacturers instructions. We got it to light twice, each time taking over 30 minutes to do so and using matches. After which it would not stay alight. Other little things cropped up, nothing major and certainly nothing unusual for a new boat. I sent the snagging list as it stood at that time to Mr Ward. His response was ';we do not travel the country to fix our boats not even the £325,000 wide beams'. Any competent person should be able to fix these matters. When we experience a few of the storms in 2020, we found there were leaks to be added to the list three mushroom vents and the galley skylight, in fact during storm Alex I collected nearly a litre of water from the dripping bedroom vent. Mr Ward will state he offered us an out of the water survey prior to purchase. Personally I fail to see what that would have achieve in finding the faults that I listed. which only became apparent with the boats use. On that subject, because of the current situation that exists, we only had 4 months use of the boat between lockdown and winter. Thus if buying a boat from Delta Marine Services be aware that once you have paid you're on your own. and do not expect many if any answers to emails or recorded delivery letters. I am, at the moment, preparing a file to take court action. Additional: when we bought the ‘brand new’ boat from Delta Marine. We asked them to install solar panels etc, this was duly done. I do not know much about solar panel, but as I had a blue light flashing on the smart controller. I was happy it appeared to be working . However on leaving the boat for ten days with just the fridge running and coming crack to flat batteries and non working fridge, I began to wonder. Today 4th August 2021, I called into a Marina who had a Victron energy expert on site. He took a look and in minutes dissidence the wiring was connected wrong giving the wrong polarity . He said it could have destroyed the controller as they had no protection against this. Fortunately when connected correctly it did not go bang, which was a great relief as one of these things cost a lot. Not to mention the potential fire risk that existed . Add to this, the rust bubbles around all of the windows are now much worse than when I brought it to Gary Wards attention last year. Brand new boat should not have rust bubbles in the paint after 17 months. It shows bad workmanship and failure to prepare the metal. This is a recurring theme on this boat . Although advising Ward at Delta Marine on frequent occasions he has not responded to emails or recorded delivery letters. He has failed to comply with the Consumer Protection Act. In fact I am beginning to wonder if this boat was 'Brand new' in the first place. I have not been asking the earth, merely that niggling problems, that are bound to occur with a 'Brand new' boat be sorted out. However, it seems Mr Ward's philosophy is 'I have had your money so go away' Just beware should you be silly enough to consider buying a boat from this company.
