    A group of us ordered food from Deliveroo yesterday. As we have different dietary requirements, we ended up placing two orders from different restaurants. One arrived in full and on time, and the other just didn't show up. I contacted Deliveroo as soon as I noticed that the app said that the food had been delivered. I was told that they attempted delivery, but that nobody was there to accept the order. They said they called me, and nobody answered, so the driver waited for 11 minutes but left with the food as they couldn't complete delivery. I was also informed that I wouldn't be receiving any sort of compensation for the order, as their terms and conditions state that if an order isn't delivered due to a fault of the customer, they don't have to provide a refund. So they took the food and my money. Despite the unsuccessful delivery being in no way my fault. A few things to note... - They never called me. I had my phone with me the entire time. - We were within view of the front door - nobody came to the door. - There is a buzzer on the door, and there were very clear instructions on pressing said buzzer on the delivery instructions - no buzzer was pressed. - After contacting them to complain, they insisted that they called me several times via the app and that I just didn't answer - I don't even have the app. I ordered via browser. - Today, after much back and forth, they're now saying that they left the food at our doorstep - this is a blatant lie. They did no such thing and yesterday even said that they took the food away with them. - We had the other order delivered only 3 to 4 minutes prior and it came without any issues. - Whilst on live chat, I was told that they understand my frustration, and that they would 'love to give me a refund' but didn't have an option allowing them to on their system - so gave me the email address for the support team, who just keep repeating the same message again and again. So clearly they understand that I'm completely justified in wanting a refund. This is disgusting behaviour. They've lied to me several times at this point, even directly contradicting things they've already said to me. But they just keep replying to my emails now with the same thing... it's always something along the lines of, "Sorry, we reviewed your details and are unable to provide compensation. See you next time!". Frustrated is an understatement. I'm going to contact my credit card company to dispute the transaction and want to report them for theft. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Deliveroo.

    Food arrived cold after driver took out thermo bag and stood completing his actions on his phone over 5 minutes. Didn't understand anything I said without using Google translate. Customer service dire. No refund, just that comments noted and hope we have a better experience next time. A reasonable size order from a local restaurant, completely unacceptable

    Absolutely appalling. The assistance is garbage, drivers arrogant, stressful, wrong orders. I have them a chance, but the operation should be abolished. My partner has used them more, and have seen the lack of customer service enough. The drivers driver like maniacs without a driving licence

    Very poor logistical understanding. Food collected from restaurant at 1:12 and not delivered until 1:34 yet they still believed it would be warm. Compensation of less than 25%. Just eat wouldn’t do this

    It took 14 emails, including sending video doorbell footage 5 times, to finally get a refund for the driver turning up at my door with someone else's order then leaving with it. I gave them another chance and hey... wrong order again... still waiting on this refund. Thieves.
