Deersbeook Farm ran a fantastic burger and hotdog stall at Bocking May Fayre today. The burgers were big and juicy, which makes me want to visit their farm shop to try more of the beef. The sausages in their hot dogs got a thumbs up as well. The sign stated that meat comes from their own native breed cattle. Hope to visit the shop soon.

What a great afternoon we had. This working farm is well worth a visit, shame its only open to the public one day a year, loved meeting all the animals and learning how the farm works. Some of the activities you had to pay a very small amount for, well worth it. Will definitely be back.

Hi - Normally everytime I shop here I get excellent quality food (lamb shanks, stewing steak, sirloin steak etc). Yesterday I purchased a large portion (around 3-4 racks) of chinese spiced spare ribs at a cost of £17.00. My family and myself were very much looking forward to these, and I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the store to buy them, that they were very large in size and looked very meaty, in their packaging. How wrong could I have been. When the food was ready, I immediately noticed how fatty the ribs were, in fact they were so fatty that there was hardly any meat on them at all, and what meat there was, was very chewy and very unpleasant in texture. The huge amount of fat on them was totally off putting. I would say that 80% of the ribs were thrown in the bin - I can only describe them as absolutely awful. I had purchased other chinese spiced ribs from here about three months ago and they were absolutely fine. This time I have no idea what the butcher did, but to have purchased so much fat, was totally unacceptable. I am very sorry to have complained here, but I just want to say how awful this experience was. In order to post, I have to give minimum 1 star, however in this case I would give no stars at all. A truly awful and off putting experience.

This is a great local farm shop that sells excellent local produce. Initially I gave it a 4 star review but as i've used the shop more and more I've decided to increase the review to 5 star. All the fresh produce is traced to where it cam from. The meat is butchered on premise and the shop can tell you what is coming and keep any special cuts you want, such as chops with the kidney still in. The meat has always been good quality and good value when you consider the lack of waste. What really made me increase my stars was the veg and especially the delicious sweetcorn. It reminded me what fresh corn on the cob really tasted like. A great find and well worth support for the industry and the commitment to local quality products.
