FAQ

Can I choose the horse I ride, or is it assigned to me?

At Deen City Farm, we do our best to match riders with horses that suit their skill level and experience. While we can't guarantee that you will always ride the same horse, we will take your preferences into consideration when assigning horses.

What is the duration of each riding session, and what is included in the package?

Our riding sessions typically last for one hour, which includes time for grooming and tacking up the horses. Each package includes a lesson with one of our experienced instructors, as well as access to our well-maintained facilities and equipment.

How often are the stables cleaned and maintained?

Our stables are cleaned and maintained on a daily basis to ensure that our horses are healthy and comfortable. We take great pride in our facilities and work hard to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for both our horses and riders.

What is your policy for veterinary care in case of an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, we have a veterinarian on call who can provide prompt care to our horses. We also have a first aid kit on site and our staff are trained in basic first aid procedures. We take the health and safety of our horses very seriously and will do everything we can to ensure their well-being.

What is the age and weight limit for riders?

We welcome riders of all ages and experience levels at Deen City Farm. However, for the safety of our horses and riders, we do have a weight limit of 14 stone (196 lbs or 89 kg). We also recommend that riders be at least 6 years old, but we may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

I first visited here with my godchild about 15 years ago and it was so nice to revisit and it hasn't changed. I think it is run very well, I love that you can buy pellets to feed the cows, sheep and goats. The coffee shop has an extensive menu, the gift shop is very cute and plenty of benches to sit. I did read the negative review regarding the cow pen and would be interested to know if the cows go into the fields at night to graze?. It is like a little oasis behind the busy streets. Will happily return now I have rediscovered this hidden gem.

Free to visit but make a donation as this place is worth a visit and as a charity farm it will need help to keep running. It's small but kids love it.

Great farm which we completely stumbled upon by accident. Came here for Easter and took part in the Easter trail which was good fun. Good selection of animals and even horse and pony riding if booked in advance. The food from the cafe was a bit expensive but lovely all the same. Staff we encountered seemed friendly. The farm was busy but spacious enough to host all the people there. There’s even a playground which is a great addition. Animal feed is not too costly either. Would definitely recommend and it’s free!

This is one of my favourite places to bring my granddaughter. The animals are well looked after. You can by food to feed the animals and there is a little park for the kids to play in.

Made a donation, was not told I couldn’t bring my small dog in at the entrance even though they saw him. Was then told after 5 minutes by a member of staff we had to leave. Won’t be back
