Customer service 101: do not gaslight your customers or imply that they are lying. I have brought my badminton racquets in to this store numerous times for restringing. The last two times, they managed to lose the badminton racquet head cover (that I had brought in with the racquet). The first time, they simply replaced it with a new one, no questions asked. The second time (today), having pointed out to the staff at the customer service counter that the cover was missing, I was directed to the stringer. The stringer became instantly defensive and claimed that he could not have lost the cover. I replied that I had not said that, only that I had been directed to him and that someone must have lost it. He then said, 'it's my word against yours.' I was shocked at this rudeness and unhelpfuless. I then asked whether I could simply take a new cover, as had been offered to me the last time this happened. He vehemently refused and seemed to imply that I was making up a story to get a free cover. He then asked me to speak to the duty manager. The duty manager sorted things out by offering me a new cover, but not before suggesting that I had forgotten to bring the collection slip, which would have noted whether I had brought in a cover. In fact, I had not received a collection slip from their staff. I had also expressly said when dropping off my racquet to the staff who processed my order to note that I had brought in a cover, precisely to avoid this scenario. I no longer intend to restring my racquets at this store as I would rather not be gaslit and treated like a criminal.
