Hi All at Daybrook Medical Practice. I had occasion to visit this practice, had a procedure carried out in my home town in Scotland, & required assistance. I popped in to the Practice to see if they could assist, I first met with 1 of the reception staff, a lovely lady , who too my request to back room staff to see if they could assist, I was approached by Kat, a practice specialist who very kindly offered to assist. Can't praise both enough for their service. Thank you 😊

The service received at this medical practice is excellent. All of the team working here are dedicated and professional, nothing is ever too much trouble and they do their very best each day to get you seen by the right person. A few people stand out, for example, Paul on reception gave some excellent travel advice on covid passports that I wasn't aware of when I was going away in February and Tracey is always helpful and will do what she can to get you an appointment if one is available. Dr Boruch is a firm favourite and is very thorough and will always go above and beyond, and not forgetting the nursing staff who are helpful and polite. Times have changed in recent years and it can be frustrating when you aren't able to get through or see someone on the day, however the telephone system has changed and when I've tried to get through recently I've not had any problems. Please be mindful when you can't get an appointment it isn't the fault of the receptionist, when they are asking what the problem is, they are clearly just needing a few basic details to establish the level of priority and urgency.... be kind.... they really are doing their best.

After struggling with an extremely wheezy, rattly chest infection over the weekend, I rang bang on 8am to try to get an appointment but wasn't even given the opportunity to go into a queue on the phone. Was told immediately by automated response that there were a high number of calls and to try later then the phone goes dead. I tried this for 25 minutes solid. I then decided to go to the surgery and try to get an appointment. I was immediately told by the receptionist that I should have persevered and given thought to the elderly! Then she told me off for actually having come to the surgery and informed me I was the 10th person to do so this morning! Well I wonder why that is?!! Appalling service, and I don't fair well being told not to come to the surgery so I did raise my voice. I did eventually get an appointment for 10.30 this morning. I shall be telling the doctor.

Wouldn't let me put zero stars. The receptionist are god dam awful, need retraining, constantly have attitude for no reason, speak to you like a peice of dog s**t. No empathy and shouldn't be allowed to function and operate the way it does and its been on going for years. People don't have time to change doctors so get stuck with this absolutely shocking surgery! You wait AGES on the phone to speak to somebody to get greeted with attitude, can't get you in today you'll need to phone back and when you phone back still can't get you in! they have no feels and state no ones available when you've been waiting hours to speak to someone. Honistly this surgery needs to take some accountability and sort the waiting times, the attitude of the receptionships out and the general service. God forbid you have a complaint! I've asked to put in a complaint on 2 occasions due to the service received and the way ive been spoken to is disgusting and the "surgery manager" never calls but she doesn't give a dam! Terrible surgery should have new staff replace the terrible management and the receptionist.

Surprise surprise! I had a terrible experience with receptionist, P, today and her crew. I've come to share that experience and it seems there's a reoccurring theme here. Can we all be wrong? I think not. I'm not a patient here but I came in for a 2 year review for my little boy as the healthy families team rent part of the building from them. I arrived for my 1pm appointment at 12:45. I tried to sign in on the screen and it didn't register. I explained to the receptionist that I wasn't a patient but had a 2 year review. She then said "well it obviously isn't going to work then is it?" She then said absolutely nothing and I stood looking at her for about 30 seconds to find out what next. She then looks up, frowns and shakes her head in confusion and said, "you need to sit down, I've let her know you're here" - bad start. HALF AN HOUR later, with a very bored 2 year old and 15 minutes into what should be a 1pm appointment, I went over to ask what was going on. I explained I couldn't wait much longer as my little boy was getting fed up and he was tired. She looked at me gone out and said "can you move so I can speak to those people?" I asked her if she'd be checking with the health visitor as to what was going on and she said "I have let her know!!" As though I should know that. I then remarked that she was very rude in a very calm but assertive tone. She proceeded to tell me I was rude and shoo'd me out of the way. It turns out my appointment was not actually at this surgery, but the building around the corner. Had she actually let the HV know I was waiting, I would have known that sooner. That I can deal with. It's the attitude. This pompous, rude and abrupt manner which is obviously going to rub people up the wrong way. I made sure to remark loud enough to the HV when she advised I was in the wrong place that I was unhappy with P's attitude. Then a very wound up woman, who I do hope wasn't the practice manager for everyone's sake, came bounding over to tell me I was abusive and aggressive and "we get enough abuse here" - well I'm really not surprised about that. Because if that's the manner people are on the recieving end of when they come to somewhere that should be a caring environment, I'd imagine there are many people that wouldn't be able to handle that. I did handle it. Very calmly and assertively, but apparently, unless you just accept that this is the behaviour you get when you go there, everything will be considered abusive! You have terrible reviews here for a reason. Your staff are uptight, rude and quick to play victim when people pull them up on their behaviour. When everyone is saying the same thing, you need to be looking at your front of house before you start using the abuse card. Because clearly something isn't working for you. All I can say is, thank god we're not registered here. Steer well clear.
