Smashing service from the start. Had a customer's external HDD that had their archive design work on, the heads had crashed and it was their only copy. The DRS team had a donor drive and were able to extract and share the directory contents quickly. We were able to get 90% of the data back within the initial quoted costs (120GB). Luckily, this included all the key data. There was an option for an extended retrieval but we didn't need this. Data was supplied via WeTransfer efficiently and the old drive safely disposed of. Totally first class service. Nobody wants to have to pay £700+vat to retrieve their data and I always recommend multiple copies of archive material but when the worst does happen - Data Recovery Specialists are the people to call.

My Review of DRS Positive's: There was a quick response to all my communications with good interaction and they successfully recovered my data. Negative's: I was quoted online around £400 (estimated) but the lowest price after their initial look was £650 + VAT but felt that my data was worth this and had to have it recovered really. Although they did have to re build the electronics drive for the platters in the spinning drive. It turned out to be £ £870 + VAT so totalling to £1077 plus another drive to put the data on. In summary, this was an very expensive lesson I learnt, I should make sure things are backed up online as well as to another drive. I was also very suppressed that they offered a replacement drive that was of the spinning type instead of a solid state drive, spinning drives are getting to be obsolete nowadays and there was only a small price difference of about £30 to have a more secure option which I provided to them from SCAN. On the whole they did a very good job to repair and recover all my data and I am very grateful to what they managed to do. The were very helpful over the phone and were very polite. Although the time they keep the recovered data on there server for was very short and I think this should be extended for a month and not 7 days from receipt of the drive from them. I was prompted to write this review, but I have given my honest review of the work carried out.

The folk at Data Recovery Specialists were responsive from the day I got in touch with them. They gave me an idea of cost and emphasised that I would pay nothing until they had ascertained what data was recoverable and sent me a full list of the files they could retrieve with a fixed price for the job. At that point I could ask for the drive back and pay nothing. In the event the fixed price was significantly more than the initial cost estimate, but full retrieval of the data took little more than a week, and together with inclusive DHL collection of the damaged drive and delivery of a new drive with the recovered files, the process was straightforward and convenient.

Professional, fast and easy! Having never used this kind of service before and knowing the data my customer had lost was critical I turned to the internet and after a quick Google, I came upon Data Recovery Specialists. The web site looked professional but I was still going into the unknown and had some concerns. I needn't have been worried. They were fantastic from the get-go. Fantastic communication and fast service. They sent a courier the same day to collect my drive and I had the data back within a week. Fantastic all round and highly recommended.

Dropped my hard drive, it contained Wedding photos, photos of the kids and my entire music library!! I shopped around and these guys were cheaper by at least £1000. What was most unexpected was the level of customer service and professionalism I received. From start to finish they were amazing, and successfully recovered all my data. Would 100% recommend and use again.
