Absolutely our favourite so far of the English heritage site. The castle cove is delightful and nice for a paddle. But be prepared for the steep steps back up to the castle. The little cafe was only on takeaways because they were short of staff but the pork pies were lovely. There is picnic tables at the front and at the side. The car park is small but we thought it was very well priced. It is has number plate recognition and you pay when you leave. We were there for 3 hours and it only cost £1.50. You can see some beautiful views from the castle. There are steps and some are narrow so not ideal for everyone.
