A lovely little oasis to pause and enjoy spotting moorhens and butterflies (in the summer), walk and listen to a breeze ripple through trees. Volunteers have been clearing Himalayan balsam from the edges of the lake: improving view points and stopping its spread across the reserve via the waterway (Folly Brook). Improvements have been made to paths to help people get around. This will have a major impact on access to the area. In my opinion the trustees and volunteers are to be applauded for their work.

The "Lake" or "duck pond" is more of a boggy puddle, wouldn't recommend taking a dingy out as me and my mates did. The HMS Dingus was 2 inches from touching the bed of the lake the whole time, nearly titanic-ed! and don't get me started on the smell. Wasn't a good experience overall. 5 stars!
