3 months still no mount even giving all the chasing. It’s one excuse after another and Ive had enough i’m charging them back and using small claims court to recover not buy the £732 spent with them but the £590 i paid for the mount!

Earlier this year I sent Dave my HEQ5 Pro to be tuned. As I was moving house it was no rush and I said he could take his time with it. I've had it back and just recently given the mount a test and the results are brilliant, I'm getting an average of around 0.4 consistently and with a best of 0.3 on Andromeda. Well worth it in my opinion, especially as I'm using an Explore Scientific ED127 CF and that's a long scope! Thanks Dave 😁👍

David tuned a heq5 pro mount for me 2 years ago and it's consistantly run at between 0.32 and 0.55 ever since. This year he advised me on a mount for a Redcat 51. I wasn't sure but I trusted his advice and i'm glad I did. I got a StellarDrive™ done to a skywatcher EQM-35. Took it out of the box last night, Went straight for 600 second subs, and it tracked between 0.40 and 0.55 all night on its first outing, with the counterweights almost horizontal. 5 star company. Thats a £600 mount behaving like a £2,000 mount. David really knows his stuff. You can trust him. Oh and hear is its first image 21 x 10 minute subs, Ha on the California Nebula. It's not even worn in yet. The image has hardly been touched.

I’ve kind of given up with this company as there is zero customer services support.i can relate that thay are very busy and only a relatively small company but all due respect I’ve must of sent around 3-4 emails over a lengthy time period and never heard a response back.its also pointless ringing as no one picks up the phone.shame really but will go else where from now on.

I can't say enough good about Dave and Sharon at Darkframe. They have transformed my mount, which is a joy to balance now and gives me reliably excellent guiding overnight every time. Any issues with guiding now are completely down to me or the weather! Dave will go above and beyond to make sure your mount is returned to you according to his own ridiculously high standards.

I sent Dave my 16 year old EQ6 Pro for the Stellardive rebuild and upgrade. You just need to chat with Dave to appreciate his knowledge and enthusiasm. Dave was happy to talk on the phone throughout the process and provide progress updates. I’ve been working with my Stellardrive 6 for a couple of months now, guiding has settled to between 0.5 and 0.7 total error (with which I am very pleased). This week I have been taking numerous 10 minute exposures with my ZWO1600mm. I am very pleased with the results and would recommend Dave and Darkframe. Be patient, good things are worth waiting for.

i highly recommend the SkyWatcher StellarDrive. Within a week of receiving my Sky watcher EQ3 Pro Dave was already shipping it back. First night of testing without even doing the break in procedure and the first time using the AsiAir Plus without doing any setting up other then guiding i noticed i was guiding sub-arc second so i thought i'd try a 16 minute - 1000s exposure came out nicely (over exposed not edited at all) it was barely doing 2.5 arc seconds before (using phd2 on the pc) now its as good as the much more expensive EQ6 albeit less load capacity. Speaking of which i'm using a sky watcher 130 PDS , ASIAIR plus on the scope, zwo autofocuser, plus the zwo guide mini guidescope and the zwo 120 mini mono guide camera with an canon 600d coming just under 6kg So thats a 16 minute exposure photo overloading the mounts original payload by 1 kg and its at a Telescope Focal Length of 580... unbelievable, Cheers dave

Dropped my mount off at Dark Frame Optics on Saturday ... spent some time chatting to David Michael Woods who explained everything in detail. I could have stayed all day chatting, he really knows his stuff and a really nice guy. My mount was delivered back to me by Thursday as promised!! It is silky smooth now .... so easy to balance. Before sending it to Dave I would have spent hours each night tweaking the guiding to get it to settle... tonight I've set up and haven't had to touch it once ... it's guiding consistently and my stars are pinpoint. I can't believe the difference... Any doubts anyone has about Dark Frame Optics ... don't... he has suffered due to the pandemic like many companies have but that's all in the past now. He literally turned my mount around in under a week (he did explain that if it wasn't delivering numbers to his standard he would keep until he was satisfied with it). He also sent me photos of the work in progress. Can't fault it 🔭
