Having intended to visit Darby's since it opened, we finally used a birthday as a good reason: why did we wait? The restaurant is elegant, large but with the bar in the middle, it feels intimate even when full. The service was excellent, with waiters sharing tables as the customers needed. The menu isn't entirely fixed but offers a great range which should suit most preferences, and the food we ordered was fabulous, cooked perfectly, and presented with unfussy elegance. There's a fine selection of wines and a few that don't appear in many restaurants that often. Go along, we'll be going back

I had no idea what a hidden gem Darby’s was! Beautiful restaurant, lots of tables but also had a good amount of people there and a nice ambience. Service was friendly and attentive (occasionally a little slow at the start, but that picked up as our meal went on). The food was incredibly good. Every dish we ordered was excellent, and the meat they served was top-notch! This has to be one of the best steaks I’ve had for awhile. I went for the sirloin which was delicious, and my friend went for the rib which also looked incredible! We ordered the crispy potatoes, broccoli and peppercorn sauce on the side. All of them were cooked to perfection! The crispy potatoes were a favourite of mine. If you like your steak, you must give this place a try!

We enjoyed the beef cubes and also had the Cornish crab. We ordered the pate de champagne which was well done. For the main course we had the pollock and the mackerel. Unfortunately the mackerel was too salty and I would give it a miss. Overall the place has good vibes and is in a nice neighbourhood.

I like the design and interior, its very nice however same doesn’t apply for the food and drinks. The amount of wine they served is more like tasting amount not actually what should be served (check photos), meat was cooked well however taste was not great. I don’t know where they purchase it from but it had a heavy smell you would find with sheep’s but this was a beef. Sides were ok. Service was slow, 55 min for food to arrive but it was communicated to us so that's fine.
