Will not return emails and have no urgency on advising of test results even when undertaking an urgent scan

I’ve had numerous amazing experiences. I’ve called twice in the last 3 months and every time I’ve called I’ve received a very helpful response. I had to visit the surgery today and the Reception were very helpful and the nurse was outstanding! Honestly received the best service since giving birth to my babies!

Poor service, bad booking system, felt a lack of care and attention and have left the surgery since. Would suggest going further for better experience.

The Beacon Health Group needs to end. Having 1 phone line for 3 surgeries where everyone all calls at once at 8am is not sustainable.

Arrived early for my appointment. I told reception that I was a bit early but that I’d come for a scan, they just directed me down the hallway and told me to wait until my name was called. I was a little confused because I thought they might need to take my name and mark that I’d arrived, but that wasn’t the case. A couple who arrived shortly after me looked as confused as I was and asked if it was the right place to sit and wait. They also said they thought they’d need to give their names to be marked in. I couldn’t fault the ladies in the medical ultra sound room, they did an excellent job in making me feel comfortable. The lady on reception was friendly, but just needed that welcoming touch. A simple “Hello there, how are you? What can we help you with?”. I also found it a little unprofessional to be eating whilst sitting at the front desk.

I rang this morning at 8am and used the call back facility. They called back just before 9am and told me there were no appointments available and I must call them tomorrow at 8am! After saying that was what I had just done, I was told that they had answered 460 calls already this morning! Can you believe that? I can’t!

Beacon Health Group are appalling, abysmal, indescribably bad and any other adjectives you can think of which describe an organisation with which you would rather not do business. Patients who live in Danbury and could walk to the medical centre are sent to Great Baddow and/or Springfield and patients from those areas are sent to e.g. Danbury when they could walk to their local medical centre. It is as good as impossible to get to see a doctor at your own local centre when you need to and you are kept hanging on the phone for simply ages waiting to be answered. Every time, on recently ringing the number for Beacon, I have been informed that I am "more than 30 in the queue. I have held for 40 minutes before being answered and the other day hung up after one hour had passed and keyed the option for a ring back. The ring back took an hour and 5 minutes to arrive. Clearly I am not the only one facing this difficulty. People in today's society are encouraged to walk which is both good exercise and healthy to do when you are physically capable of doing so, but that option is seldom available to patients of Beacon Health Group. Instead you have to use expensive and inconvenient public transport, drive yourself, or rely on others to get you to a medical centre other than your local one, which thereby obliges you to use very expensive diesel or petrol and also add unnecessary CO2 to the atmosphere when such need not and should not be the case. You cannot even get a blood test sample taken at your local medical centre because of a shortage of needles!!! Yet they are taking bookings for flu jabs for the over 50's which presumably use one-shot syringes, but which still need to have a needle attached at manufacture. I know people in other areas who have no difficulty in having a blood sample taken at their GP surgery. One is driven to the inevitable conclusion that Beacon Health Group exists for the sole benefit of Beacon Health Group. Everything has to be at their convenience whilst the convenience and care of the patient is a secondary consideration. One could be forgiven for wondering why the Danbury medical centre exists because it is as good as impossible to receive anything by way of treatment there except a flu jab. Is it any wonder that A&E units are overflowing with people who should in reality be visiting their GP. The truth is they cannot get to see them. You are constrained to tight time-frames during which you can make telephone enquiries and these are problematic because of the numbers of other people all calling at the same time. If you have any viable alternative do not register with Beacon Health Group. I do not blame the staff, who are invariably polite and cheerful despite being hard pressed. The fault rests with those charged with running and managing the policy, procedures and business practice of their medical centres.

Called at 8am this morning, used the call back function and spoke to the receptionist 13 minutes later. Arranged a telephone consultation and spoke to a clinician within an hour. Excellent service, thank you
