What an absolute joke! I am currently in the process of buying a house. The Homebuyers survey came back stating damp was present in the property so instructed Damp Proofing Huddersfield to carry out a damp assessment. After speaking to one of their representatives they assured me that I would only need to provide the property address and the Estate Agents details and they would handle the rest. This survey is crucial as I need to renegotiate the price with the vendor. Their rep told me survey would be done on Friday so I was expecting to receive the report back on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Being a skeptic I called the agent to find out what day they had booked the keys out. The agent confirmed keys were booked for Saturday, and although different to the origional plan, didn't think too much of it as I was looking forward to the report Monday. Rang the agent on Monday to confirm that the keys were booked out over the weekend, but was informed that the keys were not booked out, therefore the survey had not been done. I got straight on the phone to Damp Proofing Huddersfield to find out a. Why the survey wasn't carried out, and b. Why I wasn't informed that it wasn't carried out? I rang 3 times from my number and all 3 times the phone rang out. I called one time from another number, phone answered within two rings. After speaking to Stuart and asking, why the survey wasn't done and why i wasn't informed, he informed me that he would call me back in 10 min as he needed to check with the surveyor. I received no phone call for the entire day. I called the next day and another person answered this time and advised that no other surveys would be conducted as the surveyor had Covid-19. Now even if this was the case, the least I was expecting was a phone call or some type of update on the latest developments, not for me to be harassing a company I have instructed on my behalf. Damp Proofing Huddersfield, has wasted my time, the vendors time and the agents time and they should be avoided at all costs!
