Very rude bouncers. Music wasn’t a vibe. Cramped space. Will not be going back here.

Love the place. The staff are great the food is to die for. Drinks are reasonably priced. But unfortunately very homophobic. As a cisgender gay man I was asked to leave for speaking with my friends about my sexual preference and orientation. I never intended to offend anyone with my existence but apparently being “just” gay is not good no more. As gay men we survived discrimination and fought for the rights of the whole community, we were demonized for ages and finally we got some freedom to express ourselves but in this place that’s not acceptable. You can’t be who you are as a cis gay man. I’ve been all around the world and I never felt unsafe or discriminated against as a gay man as much as I felt it here. It’s a real shame cuz I really like the space and most of the people there are amazing and accepting but a minority of them are out to destroy it for everyone that doesn’t conform. Gay rights are human rights. Trans rights are human rights but one of these rights does not trump the other. Instead of attacking cis gay men who are allies and fight for the trans cause maybe try practicing the acceptance that you so desperately seek from the general public. This was supposed to be a safe space for all the queer community. It’s just sad.

Being told to pay £7 entrance fee on a Thursday evening! Staff had a very unfriendly attitude, too. No thank you! There are much better places in Dalston.

Got rejected as I am a « white single man » (as said the lady at the door) As a single man i wanted to go to a bar to have drinks and meet people. I was told to go to this bar. At the entrance the lady told me it was a POC party and I couldn’t enter as « you are a white guy » (said loud and clear) I asked her how she could discriminate me on my skin color and she replied « we will not have this conversation » and asked for security. This is racism, discrimination and censor. I am sorry but i will never accept any type of discrimination and this one, based on my skin color (whatever it is) is absolutely unacceptable. This is racism. And Racism, in addition to being disgusting, is punished by law.
