We rented bikes online which was super easy- the bike rental is in the parking lot at the Brockenhurst train station- We were staying in Portsmouth so it was easy to catch a train. We went on the Ornamental woods route and it was wonderful and mostly off road, perfect for me as I do not cycle regularly. The path is mostly stone and slightly uphill there and downhill on the way back. There is a pub to eat in at the end or you could pack a lunch- I also recommend taking the paper map along with downloading the app provided

BEWARE THE PARKING FINES! The service and bikes were fantastic. I’m rating them down because I received a £50 fine for parking outside the store while cycling. The store parking is apparently only for the train station, and you therefore only get 45mins free. There are apparently signs indicating this, but the fact that I didn’t clock any of those leads me to think they are not noticeable. I expect that APCOA parking (those levying the fine) are thrilled about this arrangement with cycle experience, which strikes me as almost an underhanded business practice, since I would expect this gotcha trick happens with high frequency (all visitors I saw collecting bikes from cycle experience that day we’re leaving their cars). Hopefully this saves you £50.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Even were so kind to post me my cap I accidentally left behind. Thank you so much to Asha for the organising! I recommend booking bikes in advance and getting there early before the 10am rush to collect bikes. We cycled from Brockenhurst to the Old Station Tea Rooms, which was mostly off road, a little hilly at times but only took us about 45 mins each way.
