I bought a bike during lockdown so didn't have the option to get any kind of fit and have since spent the last couple of years watching YouTube videos, trying to learn how to make myself fit it better. I've made pretty good progress with shorter cranks, narrower bars and a better saddle but with longer rides (100km or more) have struggled with shoulder/neck pain and/or some niggles in knees/quads. The internet is a great resource but it's also often difficult to know which nugget of info will work for you, and which is either outdated or plain wrong for your own physiology. I finally decided I'd had enough of the guesswork and booked a session at Cyclefit. My session was with Vaughn who was both friendly and professional. He spent a lot of time getting to know my history on the bike and what I wanted to get out of the session, before we actually got into any adjustments. He identified issues with my weight/balance being too far back, hip angle being too closed down, hips rocking and knees being slightly out of alignment during pedal stroke. He made some changes to the saddle (height, angle, fore/aft), handlebar reach and added some shims in my shoes. My position over the bars is now so comfortable - I can finally look up the road easily and actually ride in the drops. My hips no longer rock in the saddle and my pedal stroke feels more efficient, plus my knee no longer brushes the top tube occasionally. I'm looking forward to doing a long ride this weekend and am sure that the hours in the saddle are going to feel so much more comfortable. Overall I'd say this was money well spent and the only downside to the results are that I wish I'd done this a year ago! Highly recommended!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Returning to cycling after a 20 year hiatus and with middle-aged aches and pains. Julian took the time to explain everything and I felt included in all the decisions. When you walk in and see pictures of the cyclefit team working with the likes of Jens Voigt, Fabian Cancellera and thank you messages from Nicole Cooke you can feel reassured you're in great hands. If you then go on to buy a bike from them the cost of the bike fit is knocked off the price which isn't the case with some other shops.

Vaughn was excellent - understanding, holistic and methodical. He took the time to explain the issues (largely with me thanks to some titanium pins in my left femur due to a youthful misadventure at university) and how and why he was changing the set up on my bike. He offered some helpful advice to improve my cycling moving forward - thank you! Highly recommended.

Clear, actionable advice on how to be more comfortable on a bike. And I thought being in pain was just an inevitable part of cycling.
