I’ve used Cycle King for a dozen years. They nearly always do good work on my bike. They’re especially good at explaining what’s wrong with my gears – then adjust them pretty much perfectly. Tom the manager seems to be the best expert. He susses the problem and does the fine-tuning. They give good value and often correct a problem without charging you. It helps to ask them to explain what the problems are. Asking questions about the stuff you don’t understand helps – it helps you watch out yourself for things that might go wrong. And again Cycle King help me out in an emergency and at very short notice: replacing a broken gear cable. Thanks again.

Took my old bike (about 30 years old) in as the gears had stopped working. They rang me with a price for the work, and had the bike ready for collection the same day. Excellent service, and even got a notification by email that I had earned a small cash back sum to use next time I am in the shop.

I have dealt with them before but not like the last time I took my bike for a standard service. For £52, it looked like they took the bike in kept it for 24 hours then phoned me to pick it up. I was told that they will oil it, but the chain looked really dry. They gave me an excuse that it has not been cleaned for awhile. What an excuse. When I questioned that further, I was given the classic customer service line ‘I was not here when your bike was taken in’. I tried to explain what I was told and he would not let me finish a sentence. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will never go back there. Waste of time and money.
