    What a wonderful holiday, and perfect villa! We stayed at Ormos Beach House for a week in Kalamaki, Corfu. We are a family with two small children and this villa was absolutely perfect for us. The villa was lovely, very spacious and to a good standard. There are lots of grounds and the pool has a small childrens pool which was great for my two. The area is brilliant too. With 3 tavernas and beach bars walking distance on the beach from the villa and Kassiopi was only a short drive away. I would highly recommend CV Villas and this villa, especially families with children.

    We stayed at Villa La Pinede with CV from Saturday 11th to the 25th of June 2022. The two-week holiday (price for the villa; £11,800) was booked with CV Villas with whom we have stayed before. Except – as we were to realise – we really had not. Our previous villa holidays were through CV Travel, a firm with a good reputation in the luxury villa rental market and as I can now attest from personal experience, a very different entity. One of our prerequisites when booking a villa is always the presence of air conditioning. Upon arrival it was obvious that the air conditioning for the entire first floor of La Pinede was not working. The ‘house manager’ (a local man whose services as a cook come as part of the booking) spent an hour trying to fix it. The owner then called me and asked me to try and fix it. I could not. It was clear the system was old and needed professional maintenance. The owner reluctantly said he would find someone he ‘trusted’ to look at it. The next day he called to say the man he ’trusted’ (was cheap) had retired – but would I go out and buy new batteries to see if that fixed it. It didn’t. The air con was finally replaced on the sixth day of our stay but sadly villa La Pinede held other delights to occupy out attention and time. Obviously, we didn’t pay almost £12,000 for our stay to watch TV but as it is advertised as one of the villa’s facilities, we decided to turn it on. It didn’t work. We asked the ‘house manager’ if he could make it work. He reminded us that he was just ‘the cook’ and had no idea about fixing TVs. So, I called the CV Villas rep (for the South of France) who assured me that as house manager he should at least try and fix it. He did try. He could not. With regard to the compulsory presence of the cook at La Pinede. A nice chap, but we didn’t come on a private villa holiday to be in the almost constant presence of a stranger. Isn’t a villa holiday all about privacy and NOT having to mix with perfect strangers? Knowing that we preferred not to use his services I had, before arriving, requested he cook us one meal upon arrival and buy coffee, milk, OJ and croissants for our first morning. That’s it – take the next two weeks off from cooking. However, upon arrival we were greeted by a full fridge and a bill for 250 Euros of food we had not ordered (and specifically requested not to have bought for us). I paid the ransom and let it pass. A brief word about the kitchen. As can be seen from the attached images the kitchen units at luxury villa La Pinede are falling apart. I sent photos to the rep who was horrified and also knowing about the issues with the aircon and the TV etc said she would be speaking to the owner and to CV Villas back in the UK who would be calling me to express their dismay and offer compensation. They did not. Every morning for the next three days the (very amenable and apologetic) local rep called to ask whether we had been contacted by anyone from CV Villas in the UK. We never did receive a call or a single reply to any email that I (was asked) to send them regarding the problems at La Pinede. The rep – not a full-time employee of CV Villas – offered what compensation she could which was a meal at a restaurant of our choosing. We declined. I don’t have the energy to relate more – specifically about the almost constant noise pollution. Incredibly CV Villas and the owner of La Pinede believe it is fine to ask customers to pay £12,000 to spend a fortnight sitting between two building sites. Two weeks of cement mixers, lorries, heavy machinery, and gangs of shouting workmen. See attached videos. Problems arise and mistakes are made in even the best run businesses but crucially it is by the response to these issues that a company or individual must be judged. In this regard CV Villas and the owner of villa La Pinede failed us badly.

    I had a lovely holiday with a group of friends in Kalkan staying at Villa Zehra. The booking process was very easy and the villa had an amazing pool and outdoor seating area. The destination rep Penelope, was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and booking us an amazing private boat trip. I will definitely be booking with them again.

    I have booked booked many villas over the years with CV and one this summer. Villas have always been 5star. However current level of service is 1star. Emails un answered and can't get through on the phone. CV what's going on? I realise there are some travel difficulties this year but some acknowledgement of emails /calls is surely the bare minimum ?
