I had a very negative experience with this studio, and have waited several weeks before posting a review as I wanted to emotionally digest it and not be as clouded by disappointement and frustration. I had a tattoo done with Jamie, and was told he was a specialist in fine line tattoos. Big regret. When I first arrived at the studio, I was greeted by Mark and Mac, who were really nice and welcoming - I'd recommend them alone based on how friendly they were! Dee, the owner, gave honest, clear cut feedback on my tattoo concept/ideas. A bit taken aback at first, but his honesty was appreciated. I had alot of questions and was a bit nervous with not setting a design until the day of, and asked for the design to be done beforehand. Jamie, the artist, accepted, but grudgingly. On the day I was supposed to see the design, I came into the shop to be told he had forgotten to do it, and the email I had sent with notes and photos had been lost. It felt this wasn't taken seriously at all, quite unprofessional. I returned another day, and he had the drawing done like a quick scribble on the side of a piece of paper. I had many notes, because I feel I hadn't been listened to at all, my laid out, detailed notes I had sent not read at all. It was really disappointing and I should have listened to my gut then and cancelled the appointment. I didn't, and on the day of the session, I was given two more options for designs. Again, I had notes because I hadn't been listened to, even after the previous visit. Jamie was quite short with me as I was hesitating between the two designs and still had notes. I felt rushed and backed into a corner. I was also told by him 'I don't think you're ready for this', which I didn't appreciate at all, as it was obvious he was getting impatient, and all I wanted was to make sure what went on my skin was what I wanted. Again, should have walked out right there, but didn't. When the design was done and put on my skin (it was in two parts), I thought of moving one part closer to the other, but seeing him sigh and again, show impatience, made me bow down and just accept it as it was. Should've spoken up more and fought for myself more, but I shouldn't have been made to feel like this time after time. I was then told to 'trust him'. Shouldn't have. The tattoo has irregularities, some parts are way darker than others, where the needle was pushed in more, and other parts are already fading. I was clear I wanted a fine line tattoo, and this was something he could do. I didn't get that, I got thicker lines wherever he felt he wanted to put them. I even have tattoo blowout in some places. All in all, alot of regret, and definitely not a recommendation for this artist. I have since gone to another studio for a touch up and to help me like this tattoo and not associate it with this really negative experience, as I don't trust going back to this artist one bit.

This was my first visit to Custom Ink to have a Tattoo. I'm quite a shy person and was feeling nervous on the day but everyone at Custom Ink made me feel comfortable and welcome within a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere.
