The Curryholic
After a bit of searching, I chose this place based on the reviews and photos and booked a table online. We arrived a bit earlier than expected at 6.00pm, there was no heating on and the room was quite cold. The staff didn't look overly professional and I was starting to have doubts. Placing our order was quite problematic and it felt rushed. I don't know why as we were the only ones there. The poppadoms and sheekh kebab were fine but I suggest the kebab should have been a bit warmer. Unsurprisingly they got the order wrong and the chicken Handi came with lamb. I felt they tried to blame us for the error but it was duly replaced. Unfortunately the gravy in the new Handi was quite oily and completely lacking in taste. My Shotkara looked identical to the Handi but it was OK, although again not as flavoursome as I was hoping for. By this time the wife had had enough and sent her's back for a refund. Even with this taken off the bill and us taking our own alcohol I was left with a £33.60 bill. I am sure that on another day things might have been better but the evening was a disappointment especially as we were expecting so much more.
