To be highly recommended from a beginner perspective, although we are sure that more experienced paddlers would learn from Mike, too. A totally safe, well planned learning experience that is fun and educative. As over 60's, we were worried about our physical capabilities, but Mike coped admirably. Our wonderful day out on Ullswater was excellent value for money.

We booked a day with Mike to refresh and improve our kayaking skills having done a bit many years ago. He was a great instructor and good company. We refreshed our (very basic) skills and learnt a lot more whilst enjoying paddling round parts of scenic Ullswater. Mike made the learning fun and was very knowledgeable about kayaking and the Lake District.

Mike and Abigail were great! Awesome day on the water in Windermere. Mike taught the group some useful paddling techniques along the way and made everyone feel super comfortable in the boats. Both were knowledgeable on the area and threw in a bit of history to go with the beautiful scenery you get around the water. Highly recommend a day out with this team!

I had done some kayaking before, but had not been in a boat for three years, so I asked Mike to take me out for a refresher day. I found it really helpful - plenty of instruction, but not so much that I felt overwhelmed.Mike is not only very skilled himself but a good teacher, patient and well-organised. As others have said, he is easy to get on with, and his knowledge of and affection for the area are evident.
