We specialize in heavy horses, specifically Clydesdales and Shires. These breeds are known for their strength and gentle nature, making them perfect for riders of all skill levels.Are there age or weight restrictions for riders?
For the safety of our riders and horses, we do have weight restrictions in place. Our maximum weight limit is 220 pounds (100 kg). We also require riders to be at least 8 years old.Are helmets provided or do riders need to bring their own?
We provide helmets for our riders, but if you prefer to bring your own, that is perfectly fine as well. Safety is our top priority, so we strongly encourage all riders to wear helmets.Can riders bring their own horses to use on your fields?
Unfortunately, we do not allow outside horses on our fields. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of our horses, as well as to maintain the quality of our facilities.Are lessons available for beginners or riders looking to improve their skills?

I am a professional coach and took beginner and Novice riders for a 2 hr ride. In all aspects of customer care, suitable tack and horses, they couldn’t do better. Would definitely recommend the heavy horse ride

Our second visit to this awesome place where we took on the 'Wild Weekender' , 2 days of riding across the fells and the beach! As always, the staff were amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable and clearly put their horses above everything which is the only way to be. We had fabulous horses, and our ride leaders, Peter and Amy were very engaging and helpful. We had an amazing time on our fabulous horses and can't wait to return!

I have always loved the lakes for many years and have visited many times. My wife and I went on a short break and the only excursion we booked was the above. Only the second time I have been on a horse in my life so I was intimidated by the size of these magnificent animals. I had nothing to worry about the horses were beautiful and patient with us, and so well behaved and chilled. The ladies(Katie and Amy) who looked after us were very responsible and professional. Amy had a real love and passion for horses and a knowledge of them that was very interesting. We were so impressed we immediately booked the yurt for September for my birthday, we will bring our Scottie dogs. God help them all.

Went for a beach ride and what an incredible experience! The staff were so friendly and informative, the instruction was good, the horses were fantastic, and they made sure to match people to the horse they thought would suit them. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone, absolutely over the moon with the with the whole experience!

Absolutely fantastic day out. Me and my Mum have had horses forever but this was special and wow these massive beautiful are amazing so worth it and would love to do the beach ride. We had the sunniest day and the views were amazing. Lots of trots and canters or walks if that's all you want to do. Emily was very informative as well. If you are thinking about doing it honestly just do it, you will love it! ❤️
