FAQ

What safety measures do you have in place to ensure the well-being of the campers?

At Cuffley Active Learning Centre, we take the safety of our campers very seriously. We have a team of trained and experienced staff who supervise the campers at all times. We also have strict protocols in place for check-in and check-out, as well as for any medical emergencies. Our facilities are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure they meet the highest safety standards. Additionally, we have implemented specific measures to prevent the spread of illness and infection, such as regular cleaning and disinfecting of our facilities and equipment.

What are the types of activities offered at your camp?

We offer a wide variety of activities at Cuffley Active Learning Centre. These include team sports, such as football and basketball, as well as individual activities like archery and climbing. We also offer creative activities like arts and crafts, as well as educational activities like science experiments and nature walks. Our goal is to provide a range of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of all our campers, so they can have a fun and rewarding experience.

What is the age range of campers that you cater to?

Our camp is open to campers aged 7 to 16 years old. We group campers by age and ability, so they can participate in activities with peers who have similar interests and skill levels. This also allows us to tailor our activities to each group's specific needs and interests.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio at your camp?

We maintain a low camper-to-counselor ratio to ensure that each camper receives individual attention and support. Our ratio is typically 1:6, which means there is one counselor for every six campers. This allows us to provide a safe and supportive environment where campers can learn new skills, make friends, and have fun.

What is your policy on refunds in case of cancellations?

We understand that plans sometimes change, so we have a flexible refund policy in place. If you need to cancel your booking, we will refund your deposit as long as you notify us at least 14 days before the start of the camp. We had a great time on a 5 day residential at Cuffley last week. The activities and instructors were brilliant. The children learnt so much and had a fantastic week! The dinners were really delicious and we enjoyed the BBQ kitchen and the pizza ovens. The tents were spacious and the camp was a great size. We would definitely come back! Thanks for a brilliant week!

I was sceptical of going due to older reviews - but I still asked my mum to go for 3 days to be with my friends, and I'm very happy I did! We done 2 activities per day, my personal favourite was archery + axe throwing or making campfires! Our camp instructors were Aiden and Luke, unfortunately Luke fell ill on the last day and we had Joline instead, they were all very nice and Aiden helped us making our campfire (with my friends) and let us cook apples on a stick! I hope people continue doing this while at the camp! The tents were full of bugs, as expected, I would recommend bringing multiple blankets as it's very cold during the nights! I'm sad we couldn't say longer (as much of my friends are too), as it was very fun and and the food was delicious, including better portions and a variety of it! I had lots of fun with Aiden, Luke and Jolene -Alicia Tudor primary

Our school went on a day trip, it was definitely worth it! Amazing experiences that left all the children working together and learning amazing life skills. We started of with rock climbing that everyone joined in on, the kids loved it! Next we played some games that had the children laughing and running around. We then did some problem solving activities that had the kids working together and communicating in a way that really impressed us. We then had a walk around and learned a bit about the interesting history and significance of the nature surrounding us. We then finished of the day with the kids building their own fires in small groups, which they really loved. As we waited for our coach they played some more games lead by the camp staff. This was an amazing experience, with excellent staff that really made our day exciting and engaging. Cuffley’s is truly place perfect for school trips and camping experiences!

It is a good camp and my daughter enjoyed it. But if you are taking £280 per kid for 2 nights and 6 meals, food guality and variety is a MUST. I am sure you can do much better with £280 X 75 kids= 21K. That was APPALLING. No eggs in any shape or form Selection of 2 fruits only (apple or tangerine) Bananas, grapes, watermelon, strawberries and other great fruits and berries can visit you in your dreams after exausting day) And yeah, not a single carrot or cucumber stick. If you don't enjoy lower range sausages and frozen hashbrown, you can have one single option of one and only cereal. If you don't like wrap with filling , you have the only option: little bowl of salad with thinniest sliced pieces and tangerine for dinner. NO DESERT AFTER "MEAL" That was trully shocking. By the way. My daughter did not wash her bottoms and rest of her body after very active days for 2 nights and has been told she needs to use some sort of DEO.. so she won't be smelly.......Imagine. NO SHOWERS AT THE CAMP... To summarise all this. They care only about profit, not about your kid. Don't be fooled. Sorry for a long essay, i could not hold it any longer.

We have just returned from Cuffley on a school residential. The children had the most amazing time and benefitted from so many new, exciting experiences. All 3 meals were excellent and meal times were organised well. The campfire was a great way to end our evening too. We had George and Natalya as our instructors - all children loved them, felt confident getting involved in each activity and they really made our experience! Thank you for giving our class such a wonderful experience, with memories I’m sure they won’t forget!
