Useless staff. They are paid to sit inside the glass wall and most of the time just sitting on their phone. If train card doesn't work and you ask for help it will take ages until they realize you are a paid customer. They rather treat me like I am the one who is cheating. Utterly upsetting. On the top of that I see people regularly forcing the gate. The people who want to travel for free and they aren't stopped. Me, the paying one yes! They stop me and always wasting mins to get out.

Easy to get to on London overground. The park is a large green nature area, with a Brown and Green cafe, the National Sports Centre, the famous dinosaur pond (the first public representation of dinosaurs in the world, if I recall), the remnants of the original Crystal Palace, lots of paths to walk or cycle and a chill atmosphere.

(Original) Im Juli 1973 kamen mein Freund O-Boy und ich zum ersten Mal in diesem wunderschönen Bahnhof an, weil wir beim nahe gelegenen Campingplatz in Crystal Palace unser Zelt aufstellten. Bis dorthin war es allerdings ein ziemlich steiler Aufstieg mit den schweren Rucksäcken, die wir schultern mussten. Danach weilte ich die kommenden drei Jahre erneut auf dem gleichen Campingplatz. Folglich stiegen wir immer wieder in diesem Bahnhof ein und aus. Der Zug fuhr nach London Bridge und Victoria Station. So ist es auch heute noch. Die Overground gab es damals noch nicht.
