  Shop around for quotes! Any tradesman refusing to share breakdown of costs is hiding something and trying to have one over on you. Very unprofessional in this manner. Friendly individuals but that shouldn’t come at the cost of daylight robbery. Writing this review to inform others who are wanting a garden to be proud of…get 3 quotes and if you don’t get breakdowns, don’t bother with the tradesman.

  Luke, Steve, Tom and Lee did a fantastic job of landscaping our back garden and improving our drainage at the side of the house. On top of that, they were a pleasure to have around, very professional and thoroughly nice guys, they did a wonderful job of entertaining our 1-year old through the window.   In June 2021 we contacted Cruse and Pawson to give us a quote for some work doing to our garden. Steve came round and we told him what we wanted he spent some time measuring up. We were then sent a quote over by Luke a few days later which had some of the work we had discussed missing. We spoke to Steve and he asked us to measure up for the missing work and send it over which we did. We then received a second quote from Luke, and went to go look at some of the work they were currently doing. They both seemed trustworthy and we were pleased with the project they showed us that they were working on. The second quote we received wasn’t the cheapest of the people we had round, but as we liked the look of the work, they were doing we decided to go ahead and book in with them. We agreed a start date of January 2022 as they were busy and we were happy to wait. In January 2022, having heard nothing we emailed Luke to find out when our work would be starting. Steve rang to find out if they could both come round and refresh their memories as had been so such a long time, and Luke had not seen our garden. Both of them turned up and we went over what we had agreed back in June. Luke did say that the prices for materials had increased and the quote would need redoing, due to the cost of building materials rising so dramatically and, in some cases, doubling. My wife jokingly said “well I hope this doesn’t mean our quote will double” and Steve assured us this wouldn’t be the case but it would be higher than what they originally said. They also then began measuring up again, which I thought was a bit strange since they had already done all this, then had us email over measurement’s so alarm bells started to ring. When they left, I commented to my wife that I thought they had forgotten about us and that’s why they wanted to come round so they could measure up again. A few hours later they revised the quote and Luke emailed it over to me. I was shocked to see there was a £10,000 increase on the original quote so it had more than doubled what they originally said. I immediately phoned Luke who said that the original quote had been sent over wrong by Steve, despite the fact all of the previous emails had come from Luke. I pointed out to him that he had done the quote as the emails were from him, and had we been forgotten. He initially denied sending the quote and kept saying it was Steve, and his own partner who had made the mistake, he did however say there were two diaries but would not admit that we had been forgotten about. We are now back to square one having to get quotes re done, be put on waiting lists for our work to start as unfortunately as we have been let down by Steve and Luke who in our opinion can not be trusted.

  Although there was a wait for the work to be completed, I knew this at the outset; time scales were accurate and its worth the wait. Luke discussed different options prior to starting work and made helpful suggestions. The work was completed in a timely way and is of a good quality. The team are polite and helpful.
