Beautiful room right in heart of the city. Ideal for shopping, pubs /club. Train station and bus station also near by. Historic Carlisle is practically next door. Will definitely be back

I recently arrived at the Hotel only to discover that my room had not been booked with the agency I used, the Manager and Staff at the hotel where so helpful and managed to find me a double room for which I was so grateful. I had an excellent weekend 12-14 May and will be returning in the future. I must thank Maggie for assisting me. Highly recommended this hotel which is situated in the heart of Carlisle City Centre.

Rooms: Nipping clean and comfortable Walkability: Smack bang in the middle of the city Food & drinks: Lovely but not cheap. Breakfast is good value.

Bang in the city-centre, my initial impression of the hotel was of a sumptuous and impressive building complete with stained-glass windows and broad staircase. But my room, set at the back of the hotel, was dark, dated, and disappointing. Cracked tiles on bathroom floor, worn units, and, in general, everything in need of refurbishment. As a room to sleep in, it's fine, but it felt like two world's colliding. Walkability: Although in Carlisle centre, it's a surprisingly short walk off of the Hadrian's Wall path.
