I recently stayed at the Crescent Guest House, and it was excellent. Lovely clean comfortable bed, had a brilliant sleep, nice clean room, lovely breakfast, and free parking on street right outside, what more could you ask for. The staff were friendly, its close to all the famous sites, so all in all l would thoroughly recommend as great value for money.

Best bit location and breakfast and parking. The rest very poor need of a good clean the mouse trap under the bed was concerning. Rooms: Whole hotel requires refurbishing . Room small stuffy and cramped facilities poor. Will not be staying here again.

AVOID!!! This stay was very disappointing. The website is very misleading. The room we was given was not any of the rooms advertised on any booking site. It was more like a converted office block than a Georgian guest house as described. We also requested a bath room, which we didn’t get and also allergy friendly food a month in advance which wasn’t catered for so we didn’t get breakfast, which is included in the price. We asked the owner when we were there, why we didn’t get the room we booked online, and they were very dismissive and not helpful at all. It appears there is a big difference in quality of the rooms there. The room was also very run down outdated and the carpet were filthy. It is also very inaccessible, there are many many flights of stairs which isn’t clearly stated online. I would avoid this place, it ruined the start of our trip.

This is a fantastic budget bed and breakfast. At £140 for 2 nights with breakfast, parking, central location and great facilities, we can’t complain. The room had a small tv, hair dryer, fan, a kettle with coffee/tea and a heater. Bathroom had complimentary shower gel sachets. Breakfast had to be ordered on arrival but this could be changed if we wanted to. Parking permit and checking in process was real easy. Had a lovely stay and couldn’t fault it for the price that we paid. Rooms: Great facilities.

Hmm.. Not sure about this place. Check in was a bit military style i.e. we were basically offered 3 set times of breakfast which we weren't allowed to change. If you wanted to change your breakfast you had to tell the serving staff the day before. Payment was also taken in full at check in! Talking of the staff, we saw one girl who never made any attempt to make conversation with guests and food was plonked in front of you. The door between the kitchen and dining room was left open and you could clearly hear the girl and the cook using foul language. Little annoyances in the room as well which if fixed would make it so much better. Wardrobe door wouldn't close properly as it was slightly offset, shaving light in bathroom not working and a really bright fire exit light in the room. They had tried to cover part of the light over with an elastoplast! Considering the price I cannot recommend this place even though the location is good, within 10-15 min walk into the centre.
