If Cranford Group really are a professional company then you should seriously consider supplying new starters with the equipment they need to do their job i.e. Laptop/PC, Monitors, Telephone & Desk. I together with two others started work this year contracting at WWT/Vodafone, Wythenshawe, Manchester, without any of the above, and was expected to provide my own Laptop & Phone. Training of 3 new starters consisted of the 'Team Leader' working from the comfort of her own home (No Doubt with Desk, PC, 2 Monitors & Headset) sharing her desktop via a web link with three staff members who had to huddle around one small Laptop screen in the middle of a noisy Call Centre. No headsets, external keyboard, or full-size monitor. And having to hold our mobile phone in one hand in order to take instructions from the 'Team Leader' and attempt to operate a Laptop with only one hand, difficult to say the least. Other ‘training’ was conducted in the staff canteen, once again one small Laptop but this time with four people around it. This is instead of what you would expect when contracting at an international company, which is an instructor physically present and a fully equipped training room.
