Bowled up at 6 pm Saturday. I was the only one at the bar. Barmaid pulling on pump, trying to draw beer from an obviously empty barrel. Contentedly ignored me and failed to call for help. Two staff members passed on by. Finally, she asked for assistance, and another barmaid arrived. This, whilst a big man watched the fruitless pumping. I asked for shandy - no bitter, so lager instead (not what I wanted). I asked for dry wine - apparently, I was lucky that they had Pinot Grigiot. I asked for crisps: they don't sell snacks. In short, I was ignored. They didn't have bitter available. I was lucky to get PG. They don't sell snacks. £11.90. Outrageous! Never again.

I went for lunch with friends and we had the 3 course set menu. There's a good choice of dishes for each course and the food was excellent. The staff were efficient and there's a nice friendly atmosphere. It's good value for money and I would definitely recommend it.
