My GP advised me that the NHS no longer undertakes hearing tests. I booked an appointment at Cox Lewis, stressing that I didn't want to be "sold" hearing aids - I just wanted my hearing to be tested so that I could make an informed decision on hearing aids. The (very cheerful, very professional) lady who answered the phone told me that this would not be a problem. I was seen by Leon Cox and, over the course of an unrushed 50 minutes, he took a thorough history, gave very useful information, and, instead of telling me what my eardrums looked like - showed me clear photographs. Then there was the usual hearing test in a soundproof booth - and an additional test where phrases spoken over background noise had to be repeated. Then a long discussion on the results and his recommendations. So thorough and so helpful. Stupidly, I hadn't checked the fees (which are shown on the website). I was expecting to pay at least £350. I was genuinely shocked to be charged only £55. I have now read previous reviews - and it seems that everyone feels the same way as I do. This is a great practice. Harley Street service at prices that make you want to smile.

Great treatment for my ears. I have problems with my ears building up wax and not being able to hear every 18 months. This time I decided to get them sorted professionally at Cox Lewis Hearing rather than going through my GP/local doctors surgery which previously has caused me more problems. With Cox Lewis Hearing there was no pain and it was quick and easy, and they answered all my questions, which gave me peace of mind. Highly recommend. Will be back for a check up next year.

I decided to get in touch with Leon when my dad was suffering from loss of hearing and ear wax. I am an old friend of Leon’s and I had seen his practice advertised online. I was impressed with the website and Leon’s qualifications. As soon as I got in touch with the clinic I was really well looked after by the reception team. Then during the appointment my dad found Leon to be extremely proficient. He also mentioned that Leon was really good at explaining everything to both him and his wife about the procedure and the implements he would be using. Leon was very patient and careful with dislodging the wax in my dad’s ears as well. Leon had advised a hearing aid for my dad and he explained that it would be advisable to get used to a hearing aid sooner rather than later so that he gets used to the mechanics of using it, however, he wasn’t pushy in his manner and he told my dad that he could see how he gets on for now having had the wax removed and come back again for a hearing aid at a later date when he was ready. I am grateful for Leon’s expertise and relieved my dad finally got the issue of his ear wax resolved as it’s made a huge difference for him. I am also appreciative for Leon’s honesty and gentle nudge towards a hearing aid for future. In my dad’s words, “I can hear in surround sound again!”
