We stumbled across Coventry Mazda on Autotrader. We live 1.5 hours drive away, however, the price they offered for the new car and a trade-in was unmatched and worth the drive. Paul and Brandon both helped us through everything and made it very simple. Very minor issue with the new car was dealt with quickly and reassuringly. Love our CX-30, this dealership will be the 1st place we look when it’s time for another upgrade. Deep Crystal Blue needs to be seen in person, it is stunning!

Having had my 7yr old MX5 serviced at Coventry Mazda in November 2022 with 22700 miles on the clock, I have now got it out for use now the weather is better as it is my fun summer car! Service was ok despite taking over 2 hours when quoted 1 and a quarter. However, I was informed that rear suspension knuckles needed replacing due to slight play!! Asked if the vehicle had recently had an MOT which it had, three days previously with a local family-owned franchise dealership I have used for many years, it passed with no issues. They indicated that they would not pass an MOT on the vehicle. I was then quoted over £2 for replacement!! Not a good testament for MX5 reliability with a 30yr history! The car only does 1500 miles a year since I bought it in 2018, I am retired and it is never raced or rallied! So, should a prospective MX5 buyer have to budget this cost every 2 + years if the average mileage is approx. 10k miles/year!? The video of the service never showed the technician actually demonstrating where the play was. I have since taken the car back to where I had the MOT as they were anxious to investigate further. I was invited into the workshop to witness a full inspection, there was no play at all on any of the suspension components or with the rear wheels. I was told if there was play, I would hear and feel it, also that the car is good for several 1000 miles yet. I have also taken it to another Mazda dealership for inspection this week and was told there are no issues with the suspension at all!! They would also give it an MOT pass. Also being a member of the MX5 owners club which share many forums and also speaking to my local club members with similar aged mk4 cars, some with much higher mileage, have had no issues at all. Beware of franchise scams to make money! Car sales are presently poor due to the economic climate and interest charges on purchase schemes. Justin Rixon who I dealt with at Coventry can't be relied upon. I have now lost confidence with Coventry Mazda having dealt with them since I purchased the car, so I will be taking my car somewhere else. If in doubt, get a second opinion.
