    New business deterrent team. Shocking service impossible to open an new account without hassle! My son has a junior ISA with this company. I have a 6 week year old daughter and was trying to open one for her. First I callled to try and book and appointment. I was told I couldn’t and just had to walk in. I went in on a week day after lunch. There was 2 cashiers there twiddling their thumbs. I was told someone else was coming back to open an account in 25 mins and would have to wait till they had their appointments once they were back. There was a lady sitting down with a customer so I am guessing she then had another appointment then could see me. I said that wasn’t convenient as my daughter will need a feed. She said she could book me an appointment for another time as they have inconvenienced me. I explained it’s been a inconvenience from the start not being able to just book an appointment. She said I could open it online which I said I could do and asked her to take details of the birth certificate. Then it was a mother issue where she said she couldn’t send it to head office without an account to attach it to so I could still need to send an original birth certificate even though they had seen it. I tried to call the branch to speak to a manger and was told she was busy and they told me my number was withheld so couldn’t take my number for the manager to call me back. I called head office straight away with the complaint and they could see my number. The team at Merry hill are lazy and incompetent- everything is a hassle. I will be moving my sons ISA and opening my daughters account elsewhere.
