Court Equestrian was recommended to me by a friend and we couldn’t be happier with the service that my daughter has received. She was new to riding, and has made really good progress since she started in February. If it’s raining, she wants to be there, if she’s ill, she wants to be there! The staff are very engaging with the children and give constructive feedback. The privates are also excellent. Enrolling her here has been the best thing, ever.

Over several years, two schools; several placements at specialised care farm settings; disabled riding schools and any form of formal education setting we started taking my daughter for hacks at CE. She was suffering from anxiety disorder, PTSD from school, alongside other issues that we were only just coming to understand. She could not bare to take any lessons or be "told" what to do as this made her very anxious. She would decline to do even the things she wanted to do if that became a demand. Claire repeatedly told me she would be welcome to stay on after the rides and hang out there, which I never took up as so many places soon asked us to move on when they tried to 'solve' her problems and disaster soon followed. We had NEVER left her anywhere EVER as it was not possible. In 2020 Claire made it possible for her to spend time at the stables with my support. It was an 'outside the box' proposal that I now see as one of her specialities. This was the beginning of the most amazing transformation in my child. From one who was diagnosed with complex special needs to a child who was useful, purposeful and flourishing in her life. She was offered the chance to be around the horses whilst we both helped out at the stables. She now works alongside other children (this is massive for her) of various ages. Helps the tutors with stable work and animal care. She can now take instruction from the instructors with no problem (this is massive I wish it would translate to home life!). Claire made it possible for her to loan a pony that we could have never managed to do enabling her to build rapport with her own horse – beyond her wildest dreams previously. Having spoken to other young people who have progressed through the NVQ's and been involved in this stables – it is apparent that this is not an isolated case. There is a laid back and inclusive management style combined with some strong leadership that works for these children – the damaged flotsam of our pressurised education system and consumerist screen based culture that is destroying so many of our young people is washing up here. They are finding a way of learning to relate to others and learn how to do actual 'real' hands on work. How to put devices down and take part in tangible wholesome activity. I put off writing this review as I just assumed the usual would happen. And it has not done so yet. My daughter, I believe is becoming the asset to the world that she can be. She is now a confident rider, self esteem is growing. She is learning how to navigate relationships with her peers – that in a formal setting would have never been possible. School we were told, for her, was "like being in the battle of the somme". So it is a recommendation I will stand by. All power to the excellent staff and massive hearted pony's / horses that we owe so much to.

I have great memories from earlier this year doing a group ride on the incredible bolting Stella. She pushed ahead of the other horses and off she went. No point trying to stop her as nothing could be done, it wasn't exactly intentional but we had a brilliant fun mad gallop and clearly she enjoyed her self, as did I :-)

Lovely establishment in beautiful surroundings. The staff are very experienced and go out of their way to help you. I have been coming for lessons and hacks for 5 months and l can't rate the place high enough. Hope to keep a horse within the livery facilities in the future.
