Do not waste your money on them! As with plenty of the other reviewers, Countrywide's surveying was an absolute waste of time. Came to my property, had a look around for 5 minutes and gave me a valuation absolutely miles off of the prices in my local area. Completely useless customer team, interacting with them was as useful as running on a hamster wheel.

Applied for a further advance with our lender (Natwest) who unfortunately use Countrywide as the valuer. Undervalued our property by around £70k. The valuer was in the property for around 5 minutes, did not walk around, did not go into any of the rooms and then left. Had 3 estate agents and an independent surveyor value the property at the amount we had applied for and more, appealed with Countrywide who responded within a day saying 3 more senior staff had looked at it and supported the initial valuation. I do not believe the supporting evidence I supplied had been looked at by 3 people within a day, especially given the amount of complaints it appears this company get! Absolute scam - avoid at all costs and any lenders who use them.

Apparently they send valuers out who don’t seem to know the area. Our neighbours house was deemed un mortgageable. Due to an almost derelict pub over the road from us. I approached the pub owners for confirmation that the building was to be demolished and the valuers were advised but they would not change their minds. We have lived in the village for years with no problems while it was open or since it’s closed. These valuers also took a valuation for a second attempt for a buyer to obtain a mortgage and they sent out the same woman (why bother wasting more people’s time money and causing stress) Absolute rubbish there are 20 now booked to view the property so looks like only cash buyers . Does this not say an awful lot of people do not agree with her valuation

I paid for a valuation in order to staircase my property- the surveyor himself was lovely and professional. However the service I have received since has been far from it. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I advise anyone paying out of their own pocket to go with someone else and they have no interest in helping you once the money hits their account.

Only having appointments during the week and 9-1 is such a bad way of running a business when you deal with the general public who work during those hours. They can't do surveys on weekends so ask you to take time off to accommodate them. Would avoid at all costs.

Waste of £400!! Didn’t even check crucial parts of the property at all due to not being able to access/ get to that part of the property which was just a top floor flat .. surely they should find the means to do this? I.e checking roofs ! What did we even pay the money for !!it was beyond basic.. less than basic

Well.. where do I start... So we bought a house and wanted a mortgage to do it up, the house was bought for £290k (cash, so no mortage needed) and we wanted a mortgage to do it up.. Santander sent Countrywide round to view the house on the £70k we had requested due to the report they sent Santander kept a £20k retainer... So far so good... Well in Oct 2022 Countrywide came to view the house to release the retaining £20k and we heard nothing... So I contacted Santander who said Countrywide said it wasnt up to scratch (to release £20k on a house now worth £500k... So I spoke to the complaints department and they sent him out again.... and again I heard nothing, called the bank (were in Nov 2022 now) and they said he had rejected the build... We have converted it from a 3 bed 1 bath to a 4 bed 2 bath... So I appealed this and the bank upheld our complain and gave us our £70 back but..... they would have to sent Countrywide out AGAIN to review the property... and along they come... we hear nothing! So... I call the bank and ask 'when can I get my money' to which I am told Countrywide weren't happy.... Each visit we asked him what he needed, he refused to speak to us as he worked for Santander (yep, he said that). He was so unhelpful it was unreal, he clearly had an horrendous attitude and was not willing to help us at all. Then Countrywide said they needed the structural report for the roof that we didn't (yes DIDN'T build) even though he has the structural report for the new roof you did build (we decided a new roof was better than just repairing the old one). Go on guess??? Yep, you got it, we heard nothing so here we are in Dec 2022 and still not £20k and Countrywide are due to again visit the property (4th visit). Santander has upheld my complaint twice now and given me the money back for the visit of this awful company. I wouldn't use them ever. Stay away

If you want your property down valued these are the boys they seem to have no idea what property is worth....their surveyors are clearly not home owners and review others with property with a jealous eye..... totally unprofessional company you will regret using them...if your purchaser is using them put it back on the market

Countrywide provided us with a level 2 home survey. They were the best priced, friendly and easy to book appointment. Before the visit we got a call from the guy visiting asking us if there was anything he wanted us to look out for in particular. The report came within a week and gave us all the information needed to proceed with our sale. We had a really good experience.
