If I could put zero , I will . AVOID THIS A&E at all cost. The worst A&E I have been so far. I like to point out I also work for an A&E in another hospital. I am Pregnant at my late stage 2nd trimester , with some serious heart problem, hypertension. I came there for my first time as I am taking my ANT appt at Chester . I was sent by my GP to A&E because of a swollen arm suspecting a blood clot , but after more than 10 hours left sitting waiting area with no attendance , no proper care . As I am writing this review still haven’t seen any doctor and my BP is going up . I haven’t slept for almost a week because my arm hurt so much and I am scared sometimes happen to me while at home ; that’s why I decided to come here . A&E are busy everywhere but they look at priorities while attending cares. I have seen people with less issues been seen much quicker than me . I will certainly update . But AVOID at all cost. It’s UNACCEPTABLE to be left this long unattended in my condition … How can they make you wait over 10-11hrs to see a Dr, it’s absolutely ridiculous, a joke … Edit : finally a Dr attended to me after 12.5 hours , just to tell me to wait again …

I took my Dad to COCH A&E yesterday, mid heart attack. We waited in reception for over 10 minutes because there was no receptionist there to even check us in. She eventually strolled in, in no real rush. Meanwhile, my Dad is still mid heart attack. The only reason I am giving 2 stars rather than 1, is because once he was in the resuscitation room, the doctors and nurses were very nice. That said, he was treated as a lower risk heart patient and wasn’t transferred to another hospital for over 7 hours. Turns out he IS an urgent heart patient and now needs a bypass!

Sitting for more 8hours now in the A&E Countess of Chester Hospital still now results and the reason is because there's a patient who arrived through the ambulance and they need to prioritize that one. I understand that's important, but it's also unfair to people who's been sitting here for hours. Your system is the problem, you need to have 2 different departments for emergency one from the ambulance and one from people who is also NOT FEELING WELL and waited patiently. Broken bone or shot, yes it's life threatening, so what about patients like me with heart problems who can't breathe and having a bad burning feeling throughout the throat and chest?! Is a joke threatening?!!!

Arrived at a&e at 9pm and was out by midnight. Very thorough and polite, professional staff. It was busy, but people were seen relatively quickly.
