Staff are friendly and really helpful. The store is clean and tidy, with lots of wide ranging stock. All the goods on offer are great quality and are usually priced below the cost of other stores. There are also extended warranties applied to a variety of electronic goods which is a big plus, and why we visit here first for electronic items. The café is great value and again, the quality of the food is good. We've renewed our yearly membership this week at a cost of £36, which we'll probably recoup in 1 or 2 visits to Costco.

This is a review for the Tyre Centre at the Chester branch. So, after double checking my existing tyres and doing research with other tyre suppliers, I decided to order them from Costco, as usual. I've changed car since so this time I checked availability online and went to the store. After waiting at least 10 mins for "Rob" (not the usual 2 guys I'm used to seeing there) to finish talking with his tyre supplier on the phone, he then looked at me blankly... I told him what tyres I wanted and my car details. He asked if the width was correct, I said yes. He said not according to the computer. I said that tyre size is what I want, I've already double and triple checked. He said "we won't fit them. You should get that checked, we don't even have them in stock anyway". Great. So after going there specifically to use the tyre centre which I've never had a problem with, Costco has failed on 3 counts. Stock checking, it's tyre sizing data, and it's employee personal skills. Don't put a deadhead on the front desk if all they do is present a bad impression of the company. I won't be using the tyre centre again.

Walked in with a valid costco card to only go to the cafe as we were passing the premises on a long road journey. We've done this multiple times and had no issues whatsoever- again only for the cafe. This time- upon entry we were partially questioned as to whether we had a valid costco card- we were happy to show the card we'd walked in with. We were told we needed a card with a photo on it (totally understandable) we explained our situation having lost the photo ID card recently and having this one sent to us by the company as a replacement in the meantime. This would have been completely fine by us however, we didn't appreciate the worker at the door speaking down to us in such a condescending manner because we look so young- we spoke to this worker with respect as we understand the situation with the ID card but we didn't feel as if we got that in return. Extremely disappointed.

Great store, but you have to be extremely careful on prices. Some are great, and a reasonable saving on bulk, some are just shocking and expect to pay up to and over 2x standard single item retail price!
