A huge thank you to the GPs at Cornerways surgery, since being a patient my confidence and self-worth have vastly improved. GPs take the patient's illness seriously and do their best to help. Unfortunately in recent months the telephone system: reception has vastly deteriorated, the staff used to be so kind and ready to help. Telephones are jammed so we can't get through due to the backlog of patients from previous days and then when you do get through staff are unhelpful. I was in the practice the other day and could hear the phone ring over 20 times staff were both just staring at the screen. Sometimes you are put on hold for no apparent reason. Please can we have the reception-staff work to capacity again.

Mixed experiences over three or four years. The surgery, like most, is clearly very stretched and several members of staff do their best in the circumstances but others let it down horrifically. Getting an appointment is difficult and when you do it will only be on the phone in two to three weeks. Dr Rogers is wonderful and has changed my life with her sympathetic and understanding manner in response to a serious personal issue - I would give her alone five stars. Dr Kerr and Dr Berman are sound. Dr Norton, however, is one of the worst people, let alone doctors, I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Rude, sarcastic, presumptuous, I would even go as far as to say discriminatory.

DR Kerr extremely rude and don’t care at all. I had several appointments with him before I made decision to write this review. Every time you talk to him about serious questions he just repeat himself and suggested staff that I already do and it doesn’t work. When I suggested that this or that might be an idea ? The answer was :no , and that he is a Dr and knows better ! And again suggested the thing that doesn’t work( as I done it for 5-6 years now) and when you ask for something else and seams to annoying him , he just puts the phone down. Awesome 👏 Shame that this kind of person once promised “HELP PEOPLE “ Also afternoon reception team absolutely arrogant and very rude and if something wrong blame morning staff and that it’s not there problem. To be fare I must say that morning staff are more helpful . Please don’t take off this review. I’m not asking a lot just a help from doctor and as working at surgery as well I’m fear to him as I know he could help me but just didn’t care or couldn’t be bothered .

I had been with Conerways for the best part of a decade. To show you just how much of the service I took up, they actually removed me at 1 point as they so rarely saw me! I then moved a whole 6 min drive away, less than 2 miles and duly did the 'right' thing by advising them that I was moving but that I wished to remain with them. I would like to stress that up to this point, I had been very happy with the service on the rare occasions I had used it. The reason for the 1 star rating is due to the awful way in which I was treated from this point and the ineptitude of the practice manager. I spoke to someone on the phone when asking if I could remain with the surgery and was advised that it was unlikely (given the distance) but I would need to write a letter, which I then had to deliver to the surgery in order to state my case as to why I wished to remain (once again, let's remember that I seldom used the service and only moved a short way away and not forgetting that whilst small, they do receive money for each patient which they had been happily doing whilst barely seeing me). I found the request strange, given the advent of email but that is exactly what I did. When I delivered my letter, the lady at reception opened it and advised that it should be fine. She then went and showed it to her colleague at the back of the room, who turned and told me that it would be unlikely, only for the 1st lady to come back and tell me that no, it should be fine! Fast forward almost 2 weeks and I receive a letter from the practice manager to state that I had moved too far away and had 30 days to find a new surgery. Given the new rules, I questioned this and also acknowledged that I would not be entitled to out of hours service and was OK with it. I was told that I could not stay and that it was their policy! I was actually requiring some tests done which 1 of the doctors had signed off, however, given the stance, I was unsure if I could still proceed, which I advised Sue Brown the practice manager of but there was a complete lack of care and she basically just kept repeating that I needed to be gone within 30 days or they will remove me from their records. I then queried why I had been made to write a letter etc if their policy is if you move, then you can't stay, initial response was more ineptitude from Sue Brown till I escalated to a partner. At which point Dr Rogers then entered and apparently, despite Sue Brown being there for years, she and the admin staff don't know the procedure for patients moving but wishing to remain and luckily for me, after almost 2 months of having to push, I would get to be the guinea pig for their staff training. For people who work in the caring profession, Sue Brown lacks any care and doesn't know what she's talking about given the number of contradictions she made and is clearly on a power trip and Dr Rogers is disingenuous, the soft spoken manner is a ruse if you listen to the actual words and not the delivery. Despite admitting that the situation was badly handled and caused a delay in my tests, I still needed to leave because if she let me stay then it would affect her conscience but was grateful that I'd brought it to light to improve staff training. My question is, given how the staff didn't know the procedure, how many people have moved (and even further) but actually still remain registered with them? I would have been fine had I not had to go through the song and dance in the first place and if I had moved miles and miles away. Ridiculous.
