Put my mum here for respite sounded great at first,but she came home worse than she went in, they never gave her tablets missed 8 lots, her dentures was rotten steredant out of date 2015, I’d never put my mum here again,also no physio was given which was promised !!steer clear

I run a local business called Creative Mojo Colchester and Districts, specialising in arts and crafts workshops in a care home environment. I have visited Corner House in this capacity, and as a support activities coordinator, over the past year, having known the Manager from a previous home. My experience at Corner House has been nothing but positive. The staff continue to go above and beyond to provide a high standard of care for their residents, looking after their emotional wellbeing as well as personal care in what continues to be a very challenging year. I am reassured they are taking all measures possible in the battle against covid and are doing their best to keep residents, and staff, safe. Residents and staff always seem happy and the home is always clean and bright. They have a lovely garden and a beautiful sun room, as well as other areas for residents to sit and/or socialise if they wish. Overall a lovely home 😊

Corner House is a lovely, friendly care home and I am proud to be part of the team there. We have welcomed the easing of lockdown restrictions and all look forward to seeing families and friends again, at last! A purpose built 'Visiting Room' set in the beautiful gardens, will allow these visits to go ahead. Thorough Infection Prevention measures are in place, including the wearing PPE and testing prior to the visits going ahead. Our priority is keeping visitors and their loved ones safe, at all times.

I have no problem with the care given in the home, and its clean and tidy, but during the pandemic they have loss a lot of residence due to Covid swiftly spreading, as I saw people on entry not gelling hands or wearing masks. Should you wish to have a loved one stay I recommend they leave their jewellery and personal possessions with family.
